The golden rays of the evening sun streamed through the dusty school windows, casting long shadows across the polished floors. A fan creaked overhead, struggling to keep pace with the summer warmth.

It was almost 6:00 pm, and the school had long emptied. Even the echoes of playful laughter and shuffling feet had faded into the stillness.

But Tae hadn't noticed any of it.

She was still seated at the principal's desk, head bent over a file, scribbling notes in a neat hand, lips pressed together in focus. The buttons of her modest blouse were slightly undone at the collar, the ends of her pallu tucked behind her chair. Her eyes, weary yet determined, scanned each word like a guardian reading a sacred text.

She hadn't eaten. She hadn't rested. She hadn't moved in hours.

The silence was broken by the sound of footsteps - slow, heavy, firm. The kind of footsteps that didn't ask for attention but demanded it.

A tall, broad figure entered through the arched doorway. His kurta slightly rolled up, arms glistening with the sweat of the day, and his sharp jaw even more pronounced under the golden light.

He gestured subtly to Om and Tejpal, the two men who'd stayed late to assist, signaling them to take their leave. They nodded respectfully and exited quietly.

The person stepped inside the main corridor, glancing at the classrooms once, then headed toward the principal's office. He paused at the threshold and found her exactly as he imagined - lost in work, unaware of the world spinning around her.

He knocked twice.

Without even looking up, Tae replied, her voice calm and a bit hoarse,

Tae- School hours are over, sir or ma'am. Please return tomorrow. The timings are morning 10 to evening 5.

The person stifled a chuckle, stepping in silently and closing the door behind him. The click of the latch made Tae finally look up - startled, defensive - until her eyes landed on him. Her expression relaxed instantly as she realised the person was none other than her own husband.

Tae- Sa, you scared me. (she muttered, a faint smile touching her lips as she reached for another file)

He raised an eyebrow.

Jk- That's all I get? No welcome? No smile? No 'what brings you here, beloved husband'?

Tae- Not now. I'm almost done. Just give me five minutes. (she replied, not even glancing up this time)

Jungkook walked toward the desk slowly, leaned against it with casual elegance, and crossed his arms.

Jk- May I have some of your time, Principal ma'am? I promise not to disturb the holy balance of this file kingdom you're ruling.

Tae- Later. (she muttered, still scribbling)

Jk- Hmm... So Principal ma'am is busy. So busy that she can't even spare a few seconds for the Commissioner who practically blessed this school with his holy footstep. (he smirked, teasing)

That made Tae chuckle. She closed the file and leaned back in her chair.

Tae- Okay fine, Commissioner sir. You have my attention now. What can I help you with?

Before she could say another word, Jungkook slid onto her lap in one smooth motion, arms draping around her shoulders like he owned the space - which, in a way, he did.

Tae's eyes widened, mouth slightly agape.

Tae- What the-? Sa! What are you doing? Get off! What if someone walks in?
