Marjorie and Reece had been looking forward to their double date with Autumn and Winter for weeks. Reece was happy to have his sister back and was also excited to spend more time with not only wife but also his brother in law. The two men had such an amazing bond. While Marjorie couldn't wait to spend more time with her sister in law, Autumn.

Autumn and winter walked into the bustling pub, the warm glow of lights and the sound of laughter enveloping them. They were meeting Reece and Marjorie for dinner, and the excitement in the air was palpable. The four friends had decided to enjoy a casual evening filled with good food, drinks and even better company.

As the four of them settled into their seats, the scent of food and alcohol filled the air, making everyone feel right at home. Marjorie and Autumn sat opposite each other while sitting next to their husbands who had already developed a strong bond with each other and were straight into easy conversation. Autumn still felt anxious when Reece was around Winter. The weight of the men first meeting still weighed heavily on her mind.

Marjorie, with her vibrant personality, suggested they play a game to start the evening.  She knew Autumns anxieties and was determined to help her without making it a big thing. It was harder for Marjorie and Winter to relax around each other because the only bond they really had was that she was his boss. After a few quiet seconds, she decided on playing “Two Truths and a Lie,” where each person would share three statements about themselves—two true and one false. Laughter erupted from the four friends as they tried to guess each other's lies. Reece surprised everyone with his claim of having once met a celebrity, while Winter’s adventurous spirit shone through when he revealed his skydiving experience. The game not only lightened the mood but also helped them learn more about each other.

After enjoying their first and second round of drinks, the conversation flowed effortlessly. "I think we should order some food before Marjorie gets to tipsy, we know she's a light weight." Autumn teased as Marjorie nudged her leg under the table and playfully rolled her eyes.

The waitress approached with menus in hand. Autumn, always the adventurous one, quickly scanned the options and exclaimed, “I think we should try the nachos to start! They sound amazing!” Marjorie nodded in agreement, her eyes lighting up at the thought of sharing a plate of cheesy, loaded nachos with Autumn. Reece chimed in, “And I’ll have the burger, please. You really can’t go wrong with a classic.” He mumbled the last part as some kind of excuse for having the same every time, but they all knew the real reason. Winter, who was still perusing the menu, finally made his choice. “I’ll go for the fish and chips. It’s a pub staple, right?”

With their orders decided, they waited, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. They talked about their week, shared funny anecdotes, and even debated the best toppings for pizza. Easy laughter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie.

When the food arrived, the table was a feast for the eyes. The nachos were piled high, topped with jalapeños, guacamole, and sour cream. Reece’s burger was perfectly cooked, while Winter’s fish and chips looked golden and crispy. They dug in, sharing bites and complimenting each other’s choices. The evening turned into a delightful culinary adventure, with each dish sparking more laughter and stories.

Once the table was cleared, the drinks started flowing once more, Autumn suggested they try a round of the bar's signature cocktails. Marjorie, always eager to join in on the fun, quickly agreed to a fruity concoction that looked refreshing and delicious. The first sip was delightful, and she found herself laughing and chatting animatedly with her friends. However, what Marjorie didn’t realize was that her lightweight tolerance for alcohol would soon come into play.

After a couple of cocktails, Marjorie began to feel a warm glow spreading through her. She was having a great time, but as the third drink arrived, she started to feel a bit wobbly. Reece noticed her unsteady demeanour and quickly put his arm around  her. "Darling, are you okay?" He asked softly as Marjorie looked at him and replied with a giggle, insisting she was fine, but her cheeks were flushed, and her laughter seemed a bit louder than usual.
