As the couple were snuggled up sleeping, there was a rumble of thunder followed by a flash of lightning. The rain poured against the bedroom window. Mia jumped awake, looking round the room quickly. Finally, her eyes landed on Charlotte, who was sleeping peacefully next to her. She let out a breath she didnt know she was holding when there was another quiet rumble of thunder. Her eyes widened as she realised there was a thunderstorm. She glanced over at Charlotte, her sleeping as the lightning lit up her face.

Mia moved herself and sat against the headboard with her knees to her chest as she tried her best to keep her breathing regulated. "I really need Char, but i can't wake her. It will be okay. Im fine. She's right there, " Mia thought to herself as there was another rumble of thunder, louder than the last one. Mia screamed accidently before hiding her head in her knees.

"Mia, baby, what's wrong. I heard your scream. What's happened, sweetie? " Charlotte asked softly while rubbing her eyes. Mia quickly shook her head. "Hey, baby girl, you can talk to me," Charlotte whispered as she sat up next to Mia and took her hands in her own. "It's silly, but I'm scared... scared of thunder.. i disnt mean to... it made me jump," Mia whispered just as there was another massive rumble right above the house, making it shake slightly, followed by lightning. Mia physically froze, holding her breath. Charlotte watched and quickly wrapped her arms around Mia.

"Okay, sweetie, it's okay. Just breathe with me, nice and slowly, " Charlotte whispered before kissing the back of Mias hands. "Let's lay back down, but this time you are going to cuddle with me," Charlotte whispered softly. While moving back down into bed, Charlotte noticed how tense Mia was. "Come on, sweetie." Charlotte patted the space next to her. Mia shuffled closer to her girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her tightly. "Okay baby, see, I've got you, and you are safe from the world. I know it's scary, but you are warm and safe, " Charlotte whispered

Mia moved slightly, placing her head on her chest. "You hear my heart, baby," Charlotte asked softly. "It's calming," Mia whispered nervously. "Well, it beats for you, baby girl. Try and shut your eyes," Charlotte whispered softly while tracing patterns on her back. Mias eyes fluttered just as there was more thunder. "Hey sweetheart, it's okay," Charlotte whispered. "Oi, that's my name for you," Mia pouted, making Charlotte giggle.

"Mia, go to sleep and calm down, I can feel you're all tense, baby, but that's enough now okay, calm yourself down," Charlotte whispered while tracing patterns on Mias back while humming to her. Mia held Charlotte closer and closer at the sound of each rumble. "Hey hey hey, i won't be able to breathe if you carry on. Let me go a little bit." Mia sighed and slightly let go. "Dont laugh, but you have made me need to pee now from squeezing me. Right baby, i will be right back, " Charlotte whispered before getting up.

As Charlotte left, Mia sighed and bought her knees back up to her chest. After what felt like forever, Charlotte walked back into the bedroom. "Oh, Amelia, you should be asleep. The storm has gone now, baby, " Charlotte whispered before slipping back into bed. Charlotte noticed Mia zoned out. "Oi Amelia! Come lay down with me, " Charlotte whispered before touching her leg. Mia jumped quickly. "Just me baby, come on sleepy time, and i know you like to sleep on my chest," Charlotte whispered nervously before taking her top off. "Even get skin to skin this time." Mia reached to touch Charlotte boob but she smacked her hand away playfully. "Lie down first,"

Mia giggled like a child before resting her head on Charlottes chest, one hand sneaking up her side. "Amelia, you are no better than a man. As long as you dont take it too far, you can touch for comfort. I'm too tired for this now, even if it has been two months and 8 days since we last did anything, " Charlotte muttered, and Mia looked up. "You also kept count?" She asked, surprised. Charlotte nodded.

"Im still not doing it now, i don't care how much you want me," Charlotte whispered quickly. "I dont want you," Mia whispered softly, making Charlotte look away. "Oh, im sorry, i just thought... well, you know, " Charlotte muttered. "Shh baby, I mean, of course I want you but not now," Mia whispered, knowing that would be too much for Charlotte. "Mia, if i kiss you, will you stop rambling on?" Charlotte asked quietly, Mia shook her head.

"Fine, i won't kiss you then," Charlotte muttered, making Mia pout. She reached up and kissed Charlotte, them both smiling against eachothers lips. "I still love you," Charlotte whispered as her eyes fluttered.

After what felt like minutes, Charlotte was woken up to the sound of her phone ringing. She slowly moved away from Mia as she slept and looked at the called ID. She immediately picked up the phone. "Char please can you come and get me. Please, im so sorry, but i need to go home. There is thunder, and I can't." Charlotte knew she had to help her friend. "Okay, okay, you take some deep breaths, and i will be with you as soon as possible. Are you with Holly?" She asked calmly while making her way downstairs. "Yeah, i am. Just please be quick."

Charlotte hung up the phone before jumping in her car and racing down the empty roads. As the roads were so empty, it didn't take Charlotte long. While driving, Charlotte spotted a dark figure pacing on the side of the road. She slowed down as she noticed it was carly.

Charlotte stopped on the road and rolled down her window. "Get in" She shouted to her. Carly stopped abruptly in her tracks and slowly got into Charlotte's car. "Im so sorry." She whispered as her whole body shivered.

"Carly, have this," Charlotte whispered before pulling off her hoodie and slipping over Carly head. She slipped the hoodie on and lent her head against the window. "So you going to tell me what happened?" Charlotte asked quietly as Carly nodded slightly.

Charlotte took hold of Carlys hand as she started driving. "Im scared of thunder, and my friend kicked me out because I kept crying. I knew i could count on you." Carly sighed. "She what?!" Charlotte shouted, making Carly jump. "Sorry, sweetie. Right, we will get you back home. It's okay." Charlotte whispered.

By the time they got back to, the young girl was asleep in the car. Charlotte sighed sadly as she looked at her best friend. That one girl had been through so much. After a couple of minutes, Charlotte slowly got out of the car, unlocking the front door before walking back over to the car and slowly opening the passenger door. Charlotte was careful when lifting Carly so as not to wake her up.

Once inside, she laid her on the couch before covering her with a blanket. Charlotte sat on the floor next to Carly and took hold of her hand. Somehow, Charlotte dozed off in this position.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Mia stired in her sleep. As she rolled over, she was met with an empty space where her sweetheart should be. Mia slowly opened her eyes, noticing her phone missing as well. Mia immediately started to panic. Her breathing got heavier as she got out of bed, going to look for the love of her life. After checking upstairs, the red head took a shaky breath before walking downstairs.

Mia went straight into the living room, stopping in her tracks. She was met with a sleeping Charlotte and Carly. "Oh baby." Mia mumbled to herself. She carefully lifted Charlotte off the floor, laying her on the other couch and covering her with a blanket. She kissed the top of her head before taking Charlottes' spot on the floor next to a sleeping Carly.

Charlotte woke up, rubbing her eyes slightly before sitting up. She glanced over at Carly and sighed as the memories came rushing back. "My babies," she mumbled before moving and sitting herself down next to Mia. As she sat down, she wrapped her blanket around them both. "I love you." Mia whispered as Charlotte looked up at her quickly. "I love you so much." Charlotte spoke calmly before glancing at Carly. "I need to make a phone call." Charlotte muttered before standing up, her whole dimension changing. "Charlotte..." mia whispered calmly, but she shook her head. "Not now." Charlotte took herself upstairs. Finding the contact before pressing the green button.

Mia listened as Charlotte shouted down the phone for five minutes before getting up and walking to find her. She was pacing the bedroom as she ranted at Holly's mum. Mia caught Charlotte in her arms before taking her phone and hanging up. "You said your opinion now, Calm down. I can feel your heart racing against my chest." Mia whispered calmly as tears rolled down Charlottes cheek. "I feel so bad for her. Mia, you should have seen her. She was like you, but she was outside in the storm." Charlotte whispered. "But you went to her, and now she's safe again, at home where she belongs."
