Jamie's eyes lit up as Siobhan handed him the brightly wrapped box. "Happy birthday, Jamie!" she exclaimed, her excitement matching his. This was the first birthday she had celebrated in years due to unfortunate events, and she was over the moon that it happened to be Jamies. He tore into the wrapping paper, his little hands moving quickly, revealing the sleek box inside.

With a big grin, he opened the box, and there they were, the brand new branded trainers that he had spotted while out shopping ages ago. The colours were vibrant, and the design was just what he had wanted. "Wow!!" Jamie shouted, bouncing on his toes with pure excitement.

Siobhan chuckled, watching him. "Do you like them?" she asked calmly, in an attempt to calm the excited little boy down.

"Yes! They're the best! Bonbon, can I try them on now, please?" he asked excitedly, already reaching for the trainers.

"Of course! Let's get them on your feet," Siobhan replied, helping him slip them on and doing the velcro straps. As he stood up, he couldn't help but do a little dance, showing off his moves that Winter had taught him, apparently.

"Look at me, bon bon! I'm so fast now!" he laughed, running around the room, his joy filling the air. Siobhan smiled, her heart swelling with happiness as she watched Jamie enjoy his special day. Just as Vivian appeared in the doorway. "Someone sounds excited. What have i missed?" She asked softly.

With that, Siobhan left the room to get an out of breath Jamie a drink while he shared his excitement with his mum.

"Siobhan!" she called out, her voice a mix of surprise and concern. Siobhan appeared in the doorway holding Jamies water bottle that she had just filled up for him. "What's up?"

Vivian held up the box, her brow furrowing. "Did you buy these for Jamie? They're ridiculously expensive! What were you thinking?" her voice was slightly more confrontational than she originally meant it to be.

Siobhan looked taken aback, her excitement dimming. "I just wanted to do something nice for him. He's always so good, and I thought he'd love them. He showed such an interest the other day."

"I get that, but you can't just go around spending this much money on trainers! It's not practical," Vivian replied, trying to keep her tone gentle despite her frustration.

Siobhan sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I know, I know. But I've never really had anyone to spoil before. I just wanted to give him something special."

Vivian softened at her partner's words, realizing how much this gesture meant to Siobhan. "I understand that, but we need to be careful with our spending. Maybe we can find a balance?"

"Yeah, you're right, I'm sorry," Siobhan admitted, a small smile creeping back onto her face. "I just want to make him happy."

Vivian stepped closer, wrapping her arms around Siobhan. "And you will, just maybe with a little more thought next time. But for now, let's celebrate Jamie's birthday with those trainers and make him feel special."

Siobhan nodded, feeling grateful for Vivian's understanding. Together, they planned a fun birthday celebration, knowing that the love they shared was worth more than any price tag. Vivian stood in Siobhans arms as she watched her son run around the room excitedly.

"Jamie shall we go for a walk so you can try out your new trainers, they have a go faster stripe on them" Vivian asked as Jamie stopped and nodded quickly before racing to find his coat.

As they strolled through the park, Jamie couldn't help but bounce excitedly on his feet, feeling the comfort and style of his new trainers. Siobhan and Vivian chatted animatedly, sharing stories and laughter while holding hands, while Jamie darted ahead, testing how fast he could run in his new shoes.

The sun peeked through the trees, casting a warm glow on their path, and the trio enjoyed the simple pleasure of being outdoors together. Siobhan took a moment to appreciate how much Jamie loved his gift, knowing it was more than just trainers; it was a way for him to express himself and feel confident. As they walked, Vivian suggested they make a little game out of it, seeing who could spot the most colourful flowers along the way as an attempt to calm the exciteted little boy down. This turned the walk into a delightful adventure, filled with playful competition and bonding moments that deepened their relationships.
