It was somehow only Wednesday, and Marjorie already had enough of  the week. Today was the final straw for her.

The day had dragged on, with lots of paperwork and more complaining parents. Marjorie sighed as she walked through the front door, shutting it behind her. It was 5.30 and she was just getting home from work. Tiredly, she kicked her shoes off before hanging up her coat and putting her bag down.

Today was Reeces' day off. He had holiday saved and needed to use it up, so he had been taking days off here and there when they had spare staff. He spent the day preparing dinner and catching  up on paperwork that he took home with him.

"Reece, im going to have a shower!" Marjorie shouted to him before running up and into the bathroom. She didn't bother to find him, she knew that he would have too many questions at right now she couldn't cope with the thought of it.. The blonde sat there confused. She very rarely called him Reece. He made a mental note to ask her later on.

Nearly an hour had passed since Marjorie got home and took off upstairs. Reece sighed as he looked at the clock before standing up and making his way to the bathroom. He noticed that  she hadn't locked the door and smiled slightly before he gently pushed open the door to find his wife sobbing as the water washed over her now slightly  pink body.

He walked over and turned off the shower. "Darling, time to get out," he whispered softly before holding up her towel. She shook her head quickly. "Come on, let's get you dry and in one of my hoodies." He told her softly, but she shook her head quickly. "Go!" She snapped.

"Right, Marjorie, i dont know whats going on but first you come home and call me Reece which you only do if we are arguing, then i find you in a boiling hot shower and your skin is all pink and now you are refusing to get out the empy bath. Darling, what's going on?" He started off harsh but quickly realised his tone before becoming increasingly softer.

Marjorie looked at him with red puffy eyes. "The water was meant to hurt." She spat at him before looking away. Reece sighed before wrapping the towel around Marjorie and picking her up, taking her into their bedroom.

"Im too heavy,  dont hurt yourself because of me." She mumbled nervously as Reece sat them both on the bed. "Baby, what happened?" He whispered softly as tears brimmed in Marjories eyes. "Just a parent,  it's nothing to worry about.  Autumn was there," she told him quickly, he move slightly and picked up his phone. Calling his sister.

He stood up and started ranting to Autumn down the phone as Marjorie zoned out completely. She spent the time slowly slipping on a pair of legging and one of Reeces' hoodies before climbing into bed. She made herself into a ball and shut her eyes. She wasn't actually tired she was just hurting and wanted to hide from the world.

After what felt like forever, Reece climbed into bed next to his wife. "Auts has explained everything, darling. You dont need to worry about it.  They have been unenrolled from the nursery, Auts did it after you left." He whispered softly as he thought Marjorie was asleep. She moved herself quickly and wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"I wanted the shower to hurt me, and it has, but now it's all tingly because i left it too long," she whispered into his chest. "Oh, my poor baby. I think i will just have to give you cuddles." He whispered softly while holding her close. "Next time someone or something hurts you, please just come to me, and i can help you through it all." He told her softly.

Marjories body started to shake slightly as she held onto him with everything she had. "R-Reece, I'm not enough. I need to be punished." She sobbed into his chest. "No, that's enough now, baby. You are more than enough for everyone who knows you. Your work family all adore you to start with.  Then there are Quinn and Chars girls they all love their auntie Marj. Shes fun and lets them do things that their mums won't let them. Like stay up late or eat sweets for breakfast." He whispered softly while pulling her closer.

Marjorie nodded slightly as sleep slowly took over her body. "You have a little nap, baby. I will be here for you when you wake up, baby girl." He whispered softly. Marjorie fell asleep while curled up in Reeces' arms.

After an hour, Marjorie started to stir. Reece carefully held her closer. She quickly rolled over and wrapped her arms around his torso. "I love you, im so sorry." She whispered softly. "Oh baby, you are okay." He whispered before moving back slightly to look at Marjorie, but she quickly hid her head from him. "No darling, that's not how this works." He mumbled before kissing the top of her head just as she moved to look at him.

He head hit his nose before he moved away quickly. "No, Reece, im so sorry." She whispered nervously as she moved towards him. He sniffled slightly as his eyes watered. "Im okay darling,  honestly it doesn't hurt. It's not really bad anyway." He told her calmly, but Marjorie shook her head quickly before getting out of bed and moving away. "Im horrible,  im flumpy, im a bad manager, im shit with the kids, i dont deserve someone as good as you." She rambled quickly, listing off all the things the parent told her earlier.

Reece stayed where he was and let Marjorie get everything off her chest. He knew that if he intervened too early, then the emotion would come out at another time. He watched as Marjorie zoned out completely before sliding her back down the wall. "Im not enough, Im a shit manager,  I dont look after my friends or staff..." she mumbled quietly as she brought her knees to her chest. Reece sighed before standing up and walking over to her.

"Anything else you need to get off your chest?" He asked softly while rubbing Marjories hand as he gently took it in his own. She shook her head slowly before looking up. He had noticed that she would do this as an attempt not to cry. "Babe, you are allowed to show emotions when something upsets you." He whispered softly, but she shook her head quickly.

"Apparently, i let that parent get to me more than i should have. It just hit deep, i guess." She mumbled nervously, but Reece stood up before pulling Marjorie up. He dragged her downstairs slowly before pushing her onto the couch and walking away. "Reece, what are you doing? You know surprises scare me." She told him as he walked back in with two spoons and Marjories' favourite ice cream. "This was how Mia used to cheer Auts up as kids, so I'm guessing it will help you." He giggled slightly before sitting down next to her.

"You are the best. You know that right." She whispered before taking a scoop of ice cream and feeding it to him with a smile on her face. "That's not how this works. You are meant to eat it." He joked to wind her up, Marjorie rolled her eyes at him playfully. "Thanks for the reminder."
