In a snug little cottage surrounded by a forest of colorful trees, Autumn woke up before the sun had fully risen. She glanced over at her husband, Winter, still soundly asleep, his gentle breathing filling the quiet room. The air was crisp, and Autumn felt a chill that reminded her of the season’s transition. It was a perfect morning for a refreshing shower, so she decided to get up and start her day early.

Quietly, she slipped out of bed, careful not to disturb Winter. The cool wooden floor sent a shiver through her as she padded to the bathroom. She turned on the shower, letting the warm water build up steam and fill the small space with a cozy atmosphere. As she stepped under the cascading water, she closed her eyes, letting the warmth envelop her like a comforting embrace.

The sound of the water was soothing, and Autumn took a moment to enjoy the solitude. She thought about the day ahead and the tasks that awaited her. With each drop of water that fell, she felt more awake and ready to face whatever challenges might come. She washed her hair with a fragrant shampoo, the scent of coconut filling the air, and let her mind wander to the beauty of the season.

After rinsing off, she stepped out of the shower, wrapping herself in a fluffy towel. The steam still lingered in the bathroom as she prepared to get dressed. She glanced back at the bedroom, where Winter remained peacefully asleep, and couldn’t help but smile. She loved these quiet moments before the day began, knowing that soon they would share their day together.

Winter woke up later than normal to find his wife sat styling her hair after her shower. "Morning, my love." He mumbled as he moved slightly to watch her. "Good morning, my sweet. You looked so peaceful. i didn't want to wake you." She explained before putting everything and making her way towards her husband.

"My sweet, why dont you leave your hair natural today so then you dont have to worry about it." Autumn whispered calmly to him as she ran her hands through his hair.

Winter sighed before looking at his wife and shaking his head. "With sorschas sass and the parents, i wouldn't hear the end of it. I can't." He told her quietly before hiding his head in the pillow again. "You really aren't feeling it today, are you my sweet?" Autumn questioned before running her hands up and down his arms. Autumn sighed softly before snuggling into his side slightly. "Would it help if i done your hair for you and helped you get ready." She questioned, making winter nod slightly.

Autumn placed gentle kisses against Winter's shoulder before moving back slightly. "You have a couple more minutes,  and i will find you an outfit to wear." She whispered softly before walking over to his side of the closet. She pulled out his blue jeans and his grey hoodie that was Autumn’s favourite to steal from him.

While winter wasn't looking, she sprayed one squirt of her perfume on it just so every now and then he would get a slight waft of it to help comfort him. "Come on, my love, let's get you changed, and then i will do your hair for you." She whispered softly before walking closer to help him up. It wasn't like winter to be quiet like this in the morning, so Autumn felt so much joy having the opportunity to look after him.

She slowly pulled him into a sitting up position before kneeling in front of him, holding his hands before reaching up to kiss him. "Can you help?" He asked quietly as he looked at his wife. She said nothing before slowly changing him into his hoodie and kissing him again. "It smells like you." He muttered as she looked at him with a soft smile. "I will be with you all day." He smiled before standing up and changing into his jeans.

"Go and sit at my vanity, my love, and i will sort your hair out in the way that i know you like." He kissed her cheek before making his way across the room. "Why do i have to have stupid curly hair, i hate it. Look at the state of me." He mumbled sadly while staring at himself in the mirror. Autumn quickly came up behind him, wrapping her arms around him from behind quickly. "Your curls are beautiful, my sweet. Look at how perfect they are." She hushed calmly while gently running her nails through his hair.

"I will straighten it for you, but i need you to know that i love you and your hair curly or not. Im not about to do it until i can see a little smile on your face. I messaged Marjorie to tell her that we are running late today, so Reece is covering you, and Marjorie has Mia in with her. So we can take as long as we need." She explained softly to her husband while kissing his cheek.

"I mean, they aren't all bad, but they just take so much time to sort out, and i sometimes wish i could just wear them like this, but i can't, so please, can you straighten them." Autumn started humming softly as she turned on her straighteners. "Darling, im going to help you build up your confidence. i know Marjorie and reece have seen them when they come over the weekends, but maybe we should invite the others over another time. Like mia and Char, and then we could go and see Sorscha with Quinn like they said we could. Then it's just the parents, but if they say anything, i have my bat." She spoke quietly before straightening his hair gently.

"My sweet, you do such a great job of my hair all the time. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I know you have so much you would rather do like bring at work. " Winter mumbled nervously, but Autumn shook her head quickly and put the straighteners down. "Today, we will leave early. Marjorie said that wevare both spare today, but i still want us to go in just for your benefit." Autumn hushed while applying hair spray to Winters hair.

Winter sat in the book corner, feeling a wave of overwhelming wash over him. The room around him was a flurry of activity, with snowflakes gently falling outside and blanketing the ground in a serene layer of white. Despite the beauty of the season, he found himself struggling to manage the mounting responsibilities that came with it. The holidays were approaching, and the pressure to create a perfect atmosphere for the children weighed heavily on his shoulders.

As he looked out the window, he thought of Autumn, who was at work in the office. She always seemed to have a way of bringing warmth and clarity to his chaotic thoughts. He decided that he needed to see her, to feel her presence and find solace in her company. With a determined heart, he made his way out of the baby room and towards the office.

The walk was brisk, eager to reach Autumn. He navigated through the corridors before finally he arrived at the office where Autumn worked.

Pushing open the door, and Autumn looked up from behind her laptop, her eyes lighting up at the sight of him. She could instantly tell something was off. Winter approached her and she quickly rushed around to embrace him.

“I’m so glad you came to find me,” she said, her voice warm and inviting. “What’s going on?”

Winter sighed, feeling the tension begin to lift as he spoke. “I’ve just been feeling overwhelmed with everything. I thought maybe you could help me sort through it all.”

Autumn nodded, understanding the weight he carried. She led him to a small couch in the corner, where they could sit and talk away from the bustle of the nursery., Winter poured out his feelings, and Autumn listened intently, offering words of encouragement and ideas to lighten his load.

With each passing moment, Winter felt the warmth of Autumn’s presence envelop him, reminding him that he didn’t have to face his struggles alone. Together, they brainstormed ways to embrace the season without the pressure, turning what felt like an overwhelming burden into a shared journey of joy and celebration. As they laughed and planned, Winter realized that with Autumn by his side, he could weather any storm.
