"Baby girl, you really need to get up now, or we are going to be late. I know you dont need to have a shower, but we need to leave soon, sweetheart." Mia whispered calmly even though she was getting slightly more annoyed. She had been ready to leave for work early as last night they decided to go to get breakfast on the way in.

Charlotte mumbled something before snuggling back into bed. "Char, you need to get up, now please." Mia told her blankly. "Mia, i can't. Please stop nagging me, i can't do it." Charlotte muttered as she looked away from her girlfriend, who was already dressed for work and now pacing the bedroom.

"Charlotte, we are going to be late. You need to get up now or i will just leave with you." Mia told her sternly at this point. "C-cant you just drag me out of bed?" She asked, her voice sounding so small. "Charlotte, im not dragging you!" Mia told her sternly while biting her tongue. She was ready to snap at her. Tears rolled down Charlottes' cheeks as she looked at her girlfriend.

"Oh darling, it's okay." Mia whispered as her whole body and tone softened immediately. "I can't get up. i know i need to, but i just can't." She sobbed as she hid her face in her pillow. "Okay, baby girl,  it's okay." Mia whispered calmly before gently rubbing her hand up and down Charlottes back. "Char, im going to call Auts, and then I will be back." Mia whispered calmly before leaving the room.

A - "mia. What do i owe the pleasure?"
M - "Auts not the time. it's about Char."
A - "What about her? Is she okay?"
M - "Her mental health has taken a toll, and she's currently breaking her heart upstairs. She is really struggling to even get up today so she wont be in. If i can calm her down i can come in and cover for a bit but i will need to kerp my phone on me, just incase."
A - "Right, thank you for informing me, Mia. One of us will cover in the rooms, and i will sign you both off sick till next week. That will give you both some time to work through whatever this is."
M- "Thanks Aut. I better go and break it to her that I've rang, and that we have both got the day off."
A- "Okay, ring one of us if you need anything. Speak to you later."

As they hung up the phone, Mia sighed before heading back upstairs to find Charlotte where she left her. Mia said nothing. Instead, she quickly got changed from her usual work outfit and back into something comfortable before climbing into bed next to Charlotte.

"Baby girl,  come and have cuddles with me." Mia hushed as Charlotte nodded slightly before resting her head on Mias chest, tears rolling down her face. "Im going to be late, and i will be shouted at for being bad at my job, and i will let winter down. " Charlotte cried, getting more of a state the longer she thought about it all.

Charlotte suddenly felt the familiar grip of anxiety tightening around her. She had been feeling overwhelmed all week so far, but now, with the weight of everything crashing down, it felt like a panic attack was creeping in. Her breath quickened, and she could feel her heart racing uncontrollably.

Seeing the change in her, Mia immediately recognized the signs. She rolled her over slightly before sitting her against the headboard, her heart aching for her. “Charlotte, look at me,” she said softly, taking her hands in her own. “You’re okay. I’m right here with you.” She focused on her eyes, trying to ground Charlotte in the moment.

“Just breathe with me,” Mia instructed, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. She could see the tension in her face, but she remained calm, her voice steady. "In through your nose and out through your mouth. Just like that." She demonstrated, her breaths becoming a rhythm for her to follow.

As Charlotte’s breathing began to sync with hers, Mia gently squeezed her hands, reminding Charlotte that she wasn’t alone. “You’re safe here. Nothing can hurt you,” she reassured, her voice soothing like a warm blanket. "Let’s count together. One… two… three… four." With each count, she could feel her grip on her hands loosening, the panic slowly ebbing away.

After a few minutes, Charlotte’s breathing steadied, and she looked into Mia’s eyes, finding comfort in her unwavering support. "Thank you," she whispered, a sense of relief washing over her. Mia smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead. "Always, my love. We’ll get through this together." In that moment, surrounded by love and understanding, Charlotte felt the weight of her panic begin to lift, knowing she had someone by her side to help her through the storms.

"Right, listen to me. I spoke to Auts, and she has given us the rest of the week off so we can look after each other and work through some emotions. I love you, and we will get through this, " Mia whispered calmly as Charlotte nodded slightly before falling against her chest, making Mia smile. "Thank you, Mia. i love you." She whispered. "I love you too, sweetheart."
