Baby shopping - AFK & AMR

Autumn was getting closer and closer to her due date with only a month to go. Mia had been working more and more at the nursery to help take the pressure off of the younger woman.

They finally both had a day off, and Mia had offered to take Autumn out to town to buy any essentials that she would need to feel ready. "Im glad we both hate people because i dont really want to be out shopping for too long." Autumn told her quietly as they sat in Mias Mustang. "And this is why we didn't bring Char with us because she would make it last wayyyy too long. I love her but she loves to shop." Mia told Autumn before getting out and walking around to help Autumn.

While walking around the shop. Mia wandered off and picked out some essentials Autumn would need. In reality, Mia didn't really know what she would need for certain, but Reece spent some time researching and sent a list to Mia. Once she filled the trolley with nappies, dummy's, bottles, a pump, formula, changing mat, and a sleep sack, Mia walked over to find Autumn in the clothes section.

As she made her way over, an outfit caught her eyes. She smiled to herself before picking it up. "Auts." She said softly, getting the younger womans attention. "How perfect?" Mia whispered as she held up a three piece suit set with black trousers, a little white shirt, and a black little waist coat. "It would match so well with you. Maybe get it a couple of sizes up because most parents dont bother putting their baby into proper outfits." Mia spoke calmly, and Autumn nodded along.

They spent time looking through the different outfit choices, but after a while, Mia could tell Autumn was getting tired. "Aut go sit in the car, i will be out really soon. Let me go and pay, and then i will be with you." Autumn nodded as she took the keys and made her way across the carpark. Before paying, Mia picked up a few extra bits like bibs, muslins, socks, and a hat for her baby to wear home.

It didn't take long for them to get home. As Mia pulled on to Autumns driveway, she noticed she had fallen asleep. The red head got out, unlocking the door before carrying autumn inside. She took her into the living room, laying her on the couch. Mia covered the younger woman with a blanket before kissing the top of her head.

Mia knew that Autumn had never napped for long, so she had to move fast. She carried all the bags upstairs and into the baby's bedroom. Mia looked around and smiled softly to herself. Mia set to work putting away the outfits before placing the nappies and wipes in the right place on the changing table.

Once Mia was satisfied with what she had done, she made her way back downstairs. As she walked into the living room, she spotted Autumn sitting on the couch with the blanket around her. "Hey, you okay?" Mia asked quietly as she watched Autumn closely. "Can you sit with me?" She asked quietly while looking at the floor. Mia could tell there was something on her mind but decided not to question it.

The older woman sat herself next to Autumn. She immediately wrapped her arms around Mia. "Thank you, i feel like i have my big sister back after years of being apart." She whispered. Mia placed her arms around Autumn, returning the embrace. "My Auts, you never lost me. I was always secretly there suppoting you, even with the fallout that we had. I wasn't going to let my little sister get hurt by anyone. " Mia told her softly.

With the pregnancy hormones being all over the place, that was enough to send Autumn over the edge. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hid her face into Mias chest. "Oh, Auts, you sob now, wait till you look upstairs." Mia teased while holding her close against her chest. "No, please dont say it. You haven't emptied the shopping bags, have you?" Autumn asked nervously.

Mia giggled in response. "I did, but it's set up how you would want it to look." Mia whispered calmly. Autumn placed her hand on her bump. "This is really happening, like it's so close to happening." Autumn whispered. Mia listened closely, keeping her arms around Autumn. "My little sister is going to have a baby, and I'm going to be an auntie." Mia spoke with a smile on her face. Autumn sighed before pushing her away.

"What's going on?" Mia asked quietly after being pushed away. "Sorry.  Im thinking. You have se lt the room. What if, what if she doesn't make it or i don't make it  or both... winter. He would..." Autumn sobbed as she held onto her bump. "Well, i won't let that happen. If it gets to it, i will squeeze your bump and push her out with you." Mia whispered calmly.  "Come on, sleepy head." Mia told as she led her back so her head landed in her lap.

Mia watched Autumn closely while she played with her hair gently. "Mia," she mumbled as she nestled herself in. "Hey, just go to sleep." Mia whispered calmly. Deep down, Mia wanted to sit Autumn on her lap and hold her close like she would do when they were kids. "Mia." Autumn sobbed, getting the red heads attention. "C-could you hold me?" Autumn whispered quietly while sitting up. "Okay, hang on." Mia carefully moved Autumn. "There you go, sweetheart. Winter will be home soon." Mia whispered calmly while wrapping her arms around Autumn gently.

Autumn rested her head on Mias chest as her sobs subsided into sniffles. "The little baba is going to have the best mum, you know that. She's a little bit silly sometimes and puts herself down, but really, she is the most caring person even if she likes to act all mean." Mia teased, earning a playful eye roll from Autumn. "It will be okay, sweetheart.  It will all be okay.how about you rest and i will hold you."

It wasn't long till Autumn dosed off again. Mia smiled while playing with her hair gently. After a while, the front door opened. After only a couple of minutes, winter walked into the living room. "Mia, is she okay?" He asked quietly as he looked at Autumn. "She's fine. She's just worked herself up, and her  pregnancy hormones aren't helping. We went shopping, and instead of leaving all the baby stuff in a bag, i unpacked it, and she panicked about losing her again and having to clear out the room or what if she doesn't make it. It's been quite a day for her. Plus, our shopping trip exhausted her to the point she fell asleep in the car, and you know how she hates napping like that." Mia whispered as she looked at Winter.

"Can you just hold her while i get changed? Then we can swap places, and you can go and get Char from work. She's had a day of it today, so she's going to be clingy tonight. She was wrapped in Reeces' arms when i left. I didn't think she cared who was holding her." Winter spoke calmly. "I will be quick."

Minutes later, winter appeared back in the room. Mia moved and placed Autumn on his lap. "If you need anything, call me. But right now I have to go. " Mia whispered as she was walking out the door. Winter let Mia go without another word.

He wrapped a blanket around them both gently before kissing Autumns cheek. "I love you." He whispered softly while watching her chest gently rising and falling.
