Siobhan was deep into her workday when she suddenly felt a familiar ache in her abdomen. At first, she tried to ignore it, focusing on the spreadsheets in front of her. But as the minutes ticked by, the discomfort transformed into sharp cramps that made it hard to concentrate.
She glanced at the clock, wishing it would move faster, but instead, the pain intensified. Siobhan realized with a sinking feeling that she had just gotten her period. Panic set in as she thought about the supplies she had forgotten to bring to the office. She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, but the cramps were relentless.
Determined not to let it derail her day, Siobhan quietly excused herself from her desk and made her way to the restroom. Once inside, she took a moment to gather herself, splashing some water on her face. After ensuring she had what she needed, she returned to her desk, but the discomfort lingered.
Throughout the day, she found herself shifting in her seat, trying to find a position that offered some relief. Siobhan kept on reminding herself that this was just part of being a woman, and she would have to get through it, one cramp at a time.
Ever since she was a child, no one had ever taken care of her during her periods. She longed to have someone by her side to play with her hair, hold her, and make sure she was comfortable, but that was all just a fairytale for the blonde.
Throughout the day, Marjorie, Charlotte, Reece, and even Autumn asked Siobhan if she was okay as she didn't seem herself. Every time, she brushed it off and told them a different lie. She didn't want to lie, but she also wasn't sure how she would handle their reactions.
By the time 5 PM rolled around, Siobhan was in a world of hurt. The cramps felt like they were tearing through her, each wave more intense than the last. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair, desperately wishing for the day to end. She had tried all the usual remedies—taking deep breaths, stretching at her desk, even sipping on some herbal tea she had brought from home ages ago and left in her top drawer—but nothing seemed to help.
As her colleagues began to pack up and head out for the day, Siobhan felt a mix of relief and frustration. She wanted to go home, curl up on the couch with a heating pad, and let the pain subside but she needed to keep up a front dor her partner. With a final glance at her computer screen, she shut it down and gathered her things. The moment she stepped outside, the cool air hit her, providing a brief distraction from the discomfort.
She took a deep breath, reminding herself that Viv would be there and she wouldn't be alone. As she walked to her car, she thought about how important it was to listen to her body and take care of herself, knowing that this pain would eventually pass.
When Siobhan finally arrived home, she felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her. The moment she stepped through the door, Vivian looked up from the couch, immediately sensing something was off. Siobhan tried to muster a smile, but it faltered as another cramp hit her hard.
"Hey, you okay?" Vivian asked, her voice laced with concern.
Siobhan sighed, leaning against the doorframe looking at the floor, with tears in her eyes. She hated to be seen as weak, but she couldn't lie to her partner. Siobhan took a deep breath. "Not really. It's that time of the month, and the cramps are killing me." She mumbled just loud enough for Vivian to hear.
Vivian's expression softened. She quickly got up and walked over to Siobhan, wrapping her arms around her in a comforting embrace. "Come on, let’s get you settled. I’ll make you some tea and grab the heating pad."
Grateful for Vivian’s support, Siobhan let herself relax for a moment, resting her head on Vivian's shoulder. "Thanks, I really appreciate it," she murmured.
As Siobhan moved to the couch, Vivian prepared a warm cup of herbal tea while Siobhan sank into the couch, pulling a blanket over herself. A few moments later, Vivian returned with the tea and the heating pad, placing them beside her.
"Here you go. Just take it easy tonight," Vivian said gently, handing Siobhan the tea. "I’ll be right here if you need anything."
Siobhan smiled weakly, feeling the warmth of the tea and the heating pad soothing her aching body. In that moment, surrounded by Vivian’s kindness, the pain felt a little more bearable. She knew she was lucky to have someone who understood and cared for her, especially on days like this.
"No one has ever taken care of me like this before." She whispered, almost not wanting to admit it. Vivian gently brushed her fingers against Siobhans arm as she led with her head in Vivian's lap. "I'll look after you bon bon. You are safe." She hushed before pulling a blanket over her partner. "What if i make a mess." She mumbled, hating herself for being as small as she was with Vivian.
Vivian moved slightly and kissed the top of Siobhans head. "That's what washing machines and showers are for. In a minute when you feel ready, i will go and change the bedding for you to a darker colour so you dont have to worry." She told her calmly. Siobhan sighed before moving slightly to let Vivian get up, but to the blondes surprise, the raven haired woman pushed her back. "I said later, you relax for a bit first."
For the first time Siobhan fully relaxed and let herself be looked after and feel loved. Vivian waited for her partner to fall asleep before moving to get everything ready upstairs for Siobhan.
