Chapter 12: Sabrina The Teenage Bitch

COLTON'S POV

"Colton, this is my new girlfriend, Sabrina." Brayden smiled as he walked up to me with his arm wrapped around some girl I had never seen before. She had long blonde hair and green eyes. She was a little shorter than Brayden and was thin. She was wearing skinny jeans and a low cut shirt.

"Nice to meet you." She smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." I said, closing my locker. "So Brayde-"

"Brayden, I need to get to my class." Sabrina said.

"Sorry man, I'll talk to you later." Brayden said and walked off with Sabrina. I rolled my eyes and went to my class.

The rest of the day and the rest of that week, Brayden talked to me less and less. Every time I saw him, Sabrina was with him. He wasn't riding the bus because Sabrina's brother was giving them rides home. Every time I wanted to hang out, he either had homework or was with Sabrina. I was pretty much alone.

That weekend I had my last surf competition until spring. I sat with my family on the sand as I waited for the competition to start. I pulled out my phone and called Brayden.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Hey, are you coming to watch me surf today?"

"Sorry, I can't. It's mine and Sabrina's one week anniversary and she wants me to take her to the movies. I hope you win!" He said and hung up. I rolled my eyes and put my phone away.

"Where's Brayden?" My mom asked.

"He's busy." I said.

"All surfers to the starting line please." The announcer said.

"Gotta go." I said, grabbing my board and running off before they could ask anymore questions. I can't believe Brayden wouldn't come to one of my biggest competitions. He's blowing me off for a girl that he hardly knows! I grit my teeth as I stood with the other surfers. The announcer explained the contest and let us all go out.

I ended up getting third place because I couldn't get over the fact that Brayden ditched me for a girl. I walked back to my family and my mom hugged me.

"I'm so proud of you!" She smiled. I pulled away from her and grabbed my clothes, going to change into dry clothes. From there I went to the car and put my surfboard in, getting in the car and sighing. My family shortly got in a few minutes after.

"Colton, third place is still really good!" My dad said.

"I should've gotten first." I mumbled.

"I noticed you were having a tough time out there." He said.

"THANKS DAD! JUST POINT OUT MY FUCKING FAILURES! MAKE ME FEEL EVEN FUCKING BETTER!"

"Colton! You do not speak to your father like that!" My mom exclaimed.

"Dad, stop the car." I requested.

"What?" My dad asked.

"Stop. The. Fucking. Car." He stopped and I opened the door, getting out and slamming the door. I started walking, the car following me slowly.

"Colton, what on earth are you doing?" My mom asked.

"I'm walking home."

"Colton, you're in sandals."

"I need to be alone."

"Okay." She sighed as they drove away. I continued walking, ready to explode. I was so angry at Brayden, I didn't care if I ever saw his face again.
