Chapter 5: Baby Fever

Chris' POV

*One Month Later*

I walked up to Brandon and Alex's door after work. I knocked and waited for them to answer.

"Chris? Is it just you?" Alex questioned, opening the door and looking around.

"Yup, just stopped by on my way home from work."

"Oh? Why?"

"I need to talk to you and Brandon. It's about Camryn."

"Is everything okay?" She asked as she let me in.

"Kind of." I say as she leads me to the living room. We sit down on the couch and she calls Brandon in.

"Chris? What are you doing here?" Brandon asked, sitting down next to Alex.

"I need your help." I admitted.

"With what?" Alex asked.

"Camryn. I didn't know who else to come to."

"Whats going on Chris?" Brandon asked.

"Ever since Emily was born, she's been begging to have another kid. I keep telling her no but she won't stop. She stopped taking birth control, poked holes in all of the condoms, I really don't know what to do."

"So you don't want more kids?"

"No, I don't. I love the kids I have now, but I also love that they're almost out of the house."

"Have you tried talking to her?"

"Yes but it's impossible! She either gets super upset or she makes me look like the bad person, I can't keep doing this!"

"Just calm down and let me see if I can talk to her." Alex said. "You just stay here."

"Thank you!" I exclaim as she gets up and leaves.

ALEX'S POV

I drive to Camryn's house and knock on the door.

"Mom, have you heard from Chris?" Camryn asked as she opened the door.

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about." I said.

"Oh god what happened?" She asked worried.

"Don't worry, he's fine. He's at my house."

"Well why is he there?" Camryn asked.

"Can I come in? I need to talk to you." Camryn nodded and let me into her house and we walked to the living room to go sit on the couch.

"Mom what's going on?" Camryn asked, a worried tone in her voice.

"Chris told me about you wanting another baby"

"Oh yeah, isn't it a great idea? I just miss the feeling of holding a baby and caring for one."

"Camryn, you're freaking your husband out. You're even starting to freak me out."

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Camryn, Chris really does not want another baby and I know you truly do not want one either. Do you really want to have to care for another human being again. Chris is so freaked out that he had to come to us of all people for help because he had no idea what to do. You're scaring him and you just need to drop this baby idea and enjoy the two kids that you have and your husband."

"Why didn't he tell me that I was scaring him?" Camryn asked, looking hurt.

"He said he tried. Look, I'm gonna send him back home and you guys are going to have a long talk about this and you're going to stop ruining your condoms, you're going to start taking your birth control again and you're going to drop this whole baby idea, okay?"

"Okay." She sighed.

"That's my girl." I smiled.
