Chapter 52
Colton's POV
We were woken up early in the morning for showers. We were all let out of our cells and taken to a giant room with many shower heads. They took groups in at a time to shower. It was my groups turn so we walked in, undressed and each stood under a shower head. We had five minutes to shower and had to shower in front of all the other guys. I showered as quickly as I could, dried off and got dressed, stepping out of the room. I waited until we were taken back to our cells.
After everyone had their shower we were allowed to have breakfast before heading off to the classrooms for school. It only lasted for four hours with thirty minutes of those four hours being recreation time. It wasn't anything like normal school. Multiple grade levels were combined so we learned academic vocabulary and about the Bill Of Rights. We got a snack after rec time which was in the middle of the school day.
After school, we were taken to lunch. The food here sucks but it's food. We use plastic utensils and return them after we are done. Halfway through lunch, I hear screaming and turn around to see a fight had broken out. Some guards detain the two boys who were fighting and gets the entire cafeteria to stop shouting.
"HIT YOUR DOOR!" A guard yelled and everyone started running. I stood up, waiting for it to clear a bit so I wouldn't get caught in the crowd.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" A guard screams at me, pinning me to the wall. "WHAT'S YOUR LAST NAME."
"Longsworth."
"WHY AREN'T YOU RUNNING LONGSWORTH!"
"I-I'm new. I-I don't know what anything means!"
"HIT YOUR DOOR MEANS GO TO YOUR FUCKING CELL! NOW GO BEFORE I LOCK YOU UP!" He said, pulling me away from the wall and pushing me away from him. I catch myself from falling down and sprint to my cell. The door is locked behind me and I double over to catch my breath.
"Took you long enough." Logan snickered.
"I don't know what anything means!" I groaned.
"You better learn." Tristan said. They then continued to tell me everything I needed to know. We were just sitting when our cell door was opened.
"Up and out." The guard said. We walked out and stood against the wall. Another guard went in and they started to tear up our cell, searching for something before leaving.
"Hit your door and make your beds." A guard said and we walked in, the door locking behind us.
"What was that about?" I asked.
"Someone probably stole a utensil from the cafeteria. It happens every time there is a fight." Logan said as they began to make their beds. I made mine, just like theirs, not a single wrinkle. About an hour later, a guard opened up the cell door.
"Longsworth, out." I stood up and walked out. I was put in handcuffs and led down a few hallways before reaching a classroom. There were a few kids in there along with an adult. They were all sitting in chairs arranged in a circle.
"Have a seat." The adult smiled at me. I sat down and was released from my handcuffs. "What is your name?" He asked me.
"Colton Longsworth." I said. He looked at a list and nodded, checking my name off. One more person was brought in and the door was closed.
"Welcome back everyone." The man smiled. "We have a new person with us. This is Colton Longsworth and he will be with us for a few days. Colton, this is a group, alcohol abuse counseling session." I nodded and smiled on the outside, but on the inside I scowled. I don't have a fucking alcohol abuse problem. I just made a bad decision. The session lasted for about an hour and we had snacks delivered to the room at the end. A few guards came and grabbed a few people. I was one of the last ones to be handcuffed and led out of the room.
Instead of going back to my cell, I was led to an office and unhandcuffed.
"Hello Colton." Another man smiled at me. "Do you know why you're here?"
"No idea." I sighed.
"Along with your group counseling, you will have individual counseling. Once you are released, you will be put into a different group and put with a different counselor to finish out your remaining hours. You will be in here for the next hour talking about your life at home and your incident. The more cooperative you are, the easier and better this session will go. Understand?"
"Yes sir." I said.
I spent the next hour talking about Jennifer and what I remembered from the party. I talked about how I lost all of my friends and I just wanted to get out and make up with them. I also mentioned how I was scared to face my friends because I was worried they would reject me. I talked about my amazing family and just explained my entire backround. I even cried a little and it was very helpful to get everything out.
After my session, I was taken back to my cell for about five minutes before being released for dinner.

Brayden's POV
In the morning before school the next day, our group of friends was sitting down in one of the hallways in a circle. I needed to tell them what I found out about Colton.
"So what's up?" Bryce asked.
"Colton is in juvie."
"WHAT!" They all exclaimed.
"Yeah, I went to go see him yesterday and his mom told me he was in juvie for a DUI."
"Colton got a DUI?" Amanda questioned in disbelief and I nodded.
"Apparently, he was upset about his breakup so he went to a party and got drunk. He drove home and crashed his car. He totaled it and got sentenced to four days in juvie. He's completely fine though. I went home and looked up information about DUI's as a minor. His license is suspended for a year, he has a bunch of fines to pay and he has to go to counseling."
"Wow." Cassie said.
"I know." I sighed. "We have to wait for him to be released until we can have contact with him since he's in there for such a short time." I explained.
