Chapter 73: Free
Colton's POV
"Here's your new roommate." A staff member said as I walked into my room after family therapy. The staff member left, leaving only my new roommate and I.
"Hi, I'm Colton, I'm sev-"
"I don't care. I'm just here because the court made me. Don't talk to me and we'll get along just fine." He grumbled.
"Um, okay." I said, sitting down on my bed. Thank god I only have one week left.
*One Week Later*
"Colton, your family is here." A staff member said, walking into my room.
"Woo! I'm out of here!" I exclaimed, packing my stuff. This place hasn't been the same since Daniel left so I'm happy to leave. My roommate sucked all week so I'm glad I'm away from him. I slung my bag onto my shoulder and followed the staff member out of my room and out to the reception area. I walked out and dropped my bag to the ground, hugging my family.
"Are you ready to go home?" My mom asked.
"Hell yeah." I said, picking my bag back up. We walked out of the facility and out to the car.
"It's so nice to be outside." I sighed, rolling down my window. We finally made it home and I went up to my room. My door was still gone. Nice. I threw all my clothes into my dirty clothes hamper and sat on my bed.
"IT'S SO COMFORTABLE!" I exclaimed.
"You're aware you're back to school tomorrow, right?" My dad asked, walking into my room.
"Yeah." I sighed.
"I know it sucks, but you have to go back."
"I know."
"Here." My dad said, tossing something onto my bed. I grabbed it to find it was my phone. I smiled and plugged it into the charger since it was dead.
"I'm leaving!" Caitlyn called.
"Where's she going?" I asked.
"Date." My dad said.
"WAIT!" I screamed, sprinting out of the room and down the stairs. I tripped halfway down, landing on my face. "FUCK!" I exclaimed.
"Dork." Caitlyn snickered. I stood up and bumped her out of the way, walking out of the house and closing the door. I looked Josh up and down before looking into his eyes.
"You must be her brother."
"You are correct." I said. I stood on the bench to get taller than him. "My sister means more to me than anything. Hurt her and I will kill you. Understand?"
"Understood." He said. I smiled and patted the top of his head, walking back into the house.
"You're good to go." I told Caitlyn, going back up to my room.
"Be back in time for dinner!" My mom called. We were going out to a nice restaraunt since it was my first night home. I grabbed my bag and pulled out a slip of paper Daniel had given to me. I turned my phone on and plugged his number into my phone.
Colton~ Hey Daniel, it's Colton. I'm free! Maybe I'll see you at school tomorrow?
Daniel~ Hey! Which lunch do you have?
C~ B
D~ Same! I'll try to find you at lunch.
C~ Awesome!
Once Caitlyn returned, we went out to dinner and discussed everything that's happened since our last family session. It felt good to be home, fully recovered and with my family again. Going to this place made me realize how much I really do love them and how grateful I am to have them.
