Chapter 84

Colton's POV

*One Month Later*

I paced on the sand, my nerves causing my body to shake. I had gone to the beach almost everyday for the last month to prepare myself for a competiton. I signed up for the first competition that was logical for me to enter. After about a week of constant surfing, I was back to my old skill level.

My family and friends had come out to watch me compete. My parents and Sarah were proud of me for getting back to surfing.

"How you feeling?" Sarah asked.

"I'm so fucking nervous." I sighed.

"You're going to do great, I know it." She said, hugging me.

"Thanks babe." I said as the announcement was made for all of the contestants to get ready. I joined the other surfers and prepared myself, both physically and emotionally. The competition started and I rushed out to the water.

After the competition I stood with the other surfers, waiting for the results. I bit my lip and tapped my foot, feeling very nervous. I felt like I did good, but all of the other contestants were really good too.

"In third place is...Colton Longsworth!" I smiled and stepped up to the spot for 3rd place, getting a medal placed around my neck. 2nd and 1st place were announced and then our picture was taken. I went back to my family and they cheered when they saw me.

"Oh my god Colton, that was great!" Sarah exclaimed.

"I only got third place." I chuckled, wrapping my arm around her waist.

"You haven't surfed in two years Colton. You placed!" My mom said.

"I guess." I shrugged. I turned to look at Sarah and she smiled at me.

"I'm so proud of you." She said, grabbing my face. Suddenly, she pressed her lips to mine. My body tensed up for a second before I melted into the kiss, happy it was finally happening. We had been dating for a few months and I wanted to kiss her so bad every time I saw her. I really was in love.

We pulled apart and smiled at each other. I leaned in and kissed her again, pulling away after a few seconds. I kissed her forehead and she giggled. God, I love this girl.
