Chapter 14: Cassie

COLTON'S POV

*One Week Later*

I walked into school my first day back, actually glad to be back in school. I'd rather be at school then spend my day doing house work.

I walked into my first period and walked up to the teacher.

"Welcome back Colton." She said with a smirk.

"What did I miss?" I asked.

"Well, I rearranged everyone's seats. You are now sitting next to Cassie at that back desk over there." She said, pointing.

"Thank you." I said and walked into the classroom and went to my new desk, sitting down. A girl sat next to me, she was actually very pretty. She had long brown hair and fair skin. She was about 5'5 and was an average weight.

"Hi, I'm Cassie." She smiled at me. She had bright blue eyes and a big smile.

"Colton." I said.

"I've noticed you in this class but never really met you, but I haven't seen you in class for a few days."

"I got suspended for a week."

"Why?"

"I got in a fight with my ex-best friend because he chose his girlfriend over his best friend."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's fine, time for me to move on with that asshole. It's my freshman year of high school, time to make new friends." I smiled. The bell rang and the teacher started talking.

"We're going to start our first project. I am going to let you pick your partners but do not make me regret this. Take a few minutes to choose a partner." She said and everyone started getting together with their friends.

"Do you want to be my partner?" Cassie asked.

"Sure." I shrugged. 

"Okay, I hope everyone has a partner. This paper has everything you will need to know about your project and it also has your rubric so do not lose it, you will not get another one." She said, passing out papers. "Let's go over it."

"Let me see your schedule." I said while we were let loose to discuss our projects. She pulled her schedule out of her binder and handed it to me.

"Cool, you have lunch, Algebra and History with me." I said with a smile.

"Awesome." She said. We started talking about the project and even got a little work done. The bell rang and we packed up our stuff, heading down to lunch. We got our food and sat down in the hallway.

"So, I was thinking I could ask my parents if you could come over tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Sounds good." She smiled.

"So, what music are you into?" I asked. That was often a question I asked potential friends. Luckily, I didn't have the problem that my grandparents or my mother had, since my last name isn't Biersack. Plus, hardly anyone knows about BVB or SC anymore.

"Rock." She said and started listing off a few of her favorite bands.

"Ever heard of bands named Black Veil Brides or Stormy Copper?" I asked.

"No."

"Oh, well they're really good." I smiled. "They're old bands though so not a lot of people know about them."

"Oh, okay." She said.

I walked into history and scanned the room for Cassie. I found her talking to another girl. We didn't have assigned seats in history so I sat behind Cassie.

"Colton!" She smiled. "Colton, this is Amanda, my best friend. Amanda, this is Colton, my new friend."

"Nice to meet you." Amanda smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." I smiled at her. She had dyed red hair and brown eyes with pale skin.

"I'm home!" I called as I walked into my house.

"Hi! How was your day?" My mom asked.

"Awesome! I made two new friends."

"That's great!"

"By the way, I'm paired up with this girl, Cassie, for an English project. Can she come over to work on it tomorrow?"

"Ooh, a girl, huh?" My mom smirked.

"Not like that! Gross! Cassie is a friend."

"Alright, she can come over."

"Thank you." I said and went upstairs.
