Chapter 17: Jessica

Colton's POV

*One Week Later*

I was sitting in my bed when I was called by a random number.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Colton."

"Who is this?"

"Brayd-" I hung up before he could even finish saying his name. I was not in the mood to talk to him. Just because he got dumped doesn't mean he can come crawling back to me. He kept blowing up my phone with calls and texts. I ended up just turning off my phone for the rest of the night.

*The Next Day*

I was standing at my locker when Cassie walked up.

"Hey, I texted you last night and you weren't answering. I just wanted to see if everything is okay?"

"Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to turn my phone back on." I said, pulling my phone out of my pocket and turning it on.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, Brayden was trying to contact me and I didn't want to talk to him."

"Ah, okay." She said.

"Colton." I heard Brayden's voice behind me.

"Come on Cassie." I said, closing my locker and starting to walk away.

"Colton! Wait!" Brayden called after me. I flipped him off as I continued to walk away.

"Colton." I heard Brayden say as I ate my lunch with my friends.

"I'm going to get to my class early." I said, standing up and picking up my tray.

"Colton. Stop." Brayden said. I turned around to look at him.

"Leave me the fuck alone. I don't want to talk to you and I never will be friends with you again. You hear me? You screwed up big time and I'm sick of you." I said, dumped my food on his head and stormed out of the cafeteria.

I showed up in my next class and just sat there until the bell rang. Kids started filing in, the room getting louder as more kids showed up. Finally, the bell rang and our teacher stood up.

"Class, this is our new student, Jessica. You can sit over next to Colton. Colton, please raise your hand." I raised my hand and the girl walked over to me. She was actually kinda pretty. She had long blonde hair and bright blue eyes with pale skin.

"Okay, take out your materials for notes." She said as she went to go put up the powerpoint on the screen.

"So your name is Colton?" Jessica asked me.

"Yeah."

"Awesome, nice to meet you." She smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." I smiled at her as I took my notebook and pencil out.
