Chapter 130

Colton's POV

A week after Cassie graduated from her school, she moved into my apartment with me and found a job the following week as a dental assistant. That was a year and three months ago and our relationship is stronger than ever. I'm seriously in love with this girl and can't wait to be done with school so I can begin my life with her.

I recently applied to USC to transfer and have been checking the mail every day since, hoping to find my acceptance or rejection letter. If they reject me, I don't know what to do. I don't have a back up plan. Brayden applied to USC as well to major in Art and Design. Neither of us have heard back yet since we applied within a week of each other.

I went downstairs to check the mail and saw a big white envelope addressed to me. In the upper left hand corner, USC's logo and address was printed. I felt the envelope and it was thick, a good sign. I ran back upstairs, leaving the rest of the mail in the mailbox and racing into the apartment.

"CASSIE!" I screamed, slowly tearing at the seal, not able to contain my excitement and nervousness.

"What? What?" She asked, running out. I showed her the envelope and she gasped. "What does it say?"

"I don't know, I haven't opened it yet."

"Well open it dumb ass!" She exclaimed.

"Okay, okay." I said, ripping open the envelope. I pulled out a red folder with the USC emblem on the front. I peeled up the emblem to reveal the next part of the folder which said "Welcome to the Trojan Family."

"Oh my god." I whispered as I continued opening it. It folded out to three sections. The middle one was a pocket with my acceptance letter and some important information on beginning the year in the fall. To the right was a Certificate of Acceptance. "This is to certify that Colton Longsworth has been admitted to the University of Southern California with all rights and privileges accorded thereto." I read aloud.

"I'M SO PROUD OF YOU HONEY!" Cassie exclaimed, hugging me tightly.

"I can't believe I got in." I said, still in shock. The next day, I went over to my parents house. I had Cassie hide the folder behind her back while I knocked on the door.

"Colton!" My mom exclaimed. "Cassie!" She smiled, hugging both of us.

"Get dad, I have some news."

"Oh my god, you're pregnant."

"No mom."

"You're engaged?"

"Mom! Stop guessing and get dad."

"Okay, okay." She said, walking over to the stairs. "CHRIS! COLTON'S HERE!" She yelled up the stairs before leading us to the living room. I heard my dad's feet on the stairs and he walked into the living room a few minutes later.

"Hey Colton, hey Cassie." He said, sitting down.

"So, what's your news?" My mom asked eagerly.

"You're looking at the newest member of the USC Class of 2075."

"You're kidding!" My mom exclaimed. I shook my head as Cassie handed them the folder. My mom opened it and looked it over. "BABY, THAT'S AMAZING!" My mom shouted, getting up and coming over to me, hugging me tightly.

"I'm proud of you son." My dad smiled, hugging me next.

"Yup, I'm officially a Trojan for the next two years." I said, holding up my index and middle finger to form a "V" for victory which was the schools hand sign.

Caitlyn's POV

*One Month Later*

A week after graduation, I got a job. My parents and I had an agreement that I didn't have to get a job while I was in school. But, now that I'm out of school, I have to get a job to pull my weight. I want to eventually move into an apartment, but right now I need to continue living in my parents' house to save up money and have easy access to free child care.

I got a job as a waitress at Chili's but hope to get either a better paying job or a second job to help me save money faster. I do want to end up going to a community college or trade school to get a stable job, but I'm still deciding what I want to do.

Colton's POV

*Two Months Later*

Brayden ended up getting accepted to USC as well and we just stayed in the same apartment since we didn't mind the thirty minute commute. Also, my job was here and I really didn't want to leave it.

Even though Brayden and I transferred, we got lucky enough to where we still get to graduate on time. I'm excited to still be going to school with my best friend after all of these years.
