I cracked an eye open and closed it again after a second or two. Umaga na siguro. I yawned and rolled over to the side.

My head bumped into something— or someone.

Nakatulog ba ko sa room ni Casper?

Oh well. Siguro nga...

I placed my head on Casper's shoulder. Gising na kaya siya?

I extended an arm and let it fall on Casper's stomach then I shifted my position and moved my head to Casper's chest.

This is weird. Ngayon, I feel so comfortable around him as if we've known each other our whole lives. As if he were Tristan. Nakakasandal na ko sa kaniya without feeling awkward.

Dati, halos patayin ko na siya when I first woke up beside him.

He took my arm off his stomach. Gising na pala siya.

"Did you sleep well?" I asked.

"Umm... Ate, ako 'to." A familiar voice said.

I opened my eyes and sat up. "Hmmm?"

"Ako 'to. Si—"

"Jairus?" I almost yelled.

Sa sobrang gulat ko, napalayo ako and almost bumped my head on the wall. "Why— why are you here?" I asked. "Di ba may physical examination ka pa?" I added.

"Natapos ko na lahat kagabi. Kaya kaninang umaga, na-discharge na ko. Si kuya yung sumundo sa 'kin. Tinawagan siya nung nurse."

"Anong oras na ba?" I asked. I fumbled and searched for my cellphone. Nahulog na pala sa sahig.

I reached for it and checked the time. It's almost 12:30.

"Anong oras ka dumating?" Tanong ko.

"Mga seven?" Sagot niya.

"Oh darn..." I quickly got up. Late na late na ko sa trabaho. "E ba't nandito ka?" Tanong ko ulit.

"Ang aga kong nagising e, kaya bumawi muna ko ng tulog." He replied before turning to the other side and facing the wall.

"Bakit dito?" I asked angrily.

He faced me and said in annoyance: "Bakit? Kama ko kaya 'to."

Itong batang 'to. "But I was sleeping here. Hindi mo ba ko nakita?" Tanong ko ulit.

He sat up and sighed. "Nakita. Dapat nga pupunta ko sa taas..." Tinuro niya yung upper bed ng double-deck. "Kaso hindi ko kayang umakyat. Kasi nga..." He pointed at his legs.

"Oh right." Hindi pa nga pala niya magalaw nang maayos yung legs niya.

"E bakit hindi ka natulog sa room ni Jade?" I asked.

"Naka-lock."

"Then why didn't you sleep at the living room?"

"Ang kapal mo rin ate, ano? Bahay kaya namin 'to." He replied. "Atsaka, injured na nga yung tao sa sofa mo pa papatulugin." He added.

"Then why were you hugging me?" Tanong ko ulit.

"Ikaw kaya yung yumakap sa 'kin." He reasoned out.

He has a point. "E bakit di mo ko pinigilan?" I asked.

"E bakit ba ang dami mong tanong? Pagkagising ko, nakasandal ka na sa 'kin." He told me.

"Akala mo ako si Kuya, ano?" He teased. He was grinning ear-to-ear.

"Ha?" I asked. Now I feel a little embarrassed.

"E bakit dito ka natulog? Kwarto namin nito ni Kuya a." He said.
