89: Happy Birthday, Amber!

"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" Casper asked.

"I just came here to greet Amber. It's her birthday." Sagot ko.

"Alam ko. Pero hindi ka namin kailangan dito. Umuwi ka na lang." He told me angrily.

"No way. Wala pang lumilipas na birthday ni Amber nang hindi kami nagse-celebrate together. Right Amber?" I asked Amber with a teasing smile.

She nodded. "E di kayo na mag-best friend!" Casper shouted.

"Tumigil ka na nga. Buti nga si Tris kahit hindi ko siya kasama, naalala niya. E ikaw?" Amber asked him.

"E malay ko bang birthday mo. Ni hindi mo nga sinabi sa 'kin kung kelan yung birthday mo e. Tapos sisishin mo ko?" Casper snapped back.

"Nagtanong ka ba?" Amber asked back.

"Anong ginagawa niyo? Can I help?" I offered.

"Gumagawa lang po ng decors." Jade replied.

"Oh, I see." I sat down on the couch and took a red colored paper and a scissor. I started making a decor.

Nung natapos ko na, I held it up to Amber and Jade and asked: "What do you think?"

"It's a really cute fish." Amber commented.

"It's not a fish. It's a ribbon!" I told them.

Amber and Casper laughed. "A ganon ba? It looks fine. It's very original." She told me.

Jade smiled. "It's the effort that counts, di ba Ate?"

Effort? So effort lang yung maganda, hindi yung ginawa ko?

Casper sat beside me. "Ako nga rin." He took a yellow paper and started cutting.

"O, tingnan niyo." He showed us what he did.

"Is that a duck?" Tanong ni Amber.

"Hindi a. Swan yan!" Casper said in annoyance.

"Then why is it yellow?" Amber asked.

"Pakialam mo ba." He snapped.

Now, it's my turn to laugh. Casper glared at me angrily and I glared back.

I took plenty of colored papers in my hand and Casper did the same. We starting cutting those into various shapes while glaring at each other every once in a while.

"Hey, check this out." I held up some of my creations to Amber.

"What's that?" She asked.

"Isn't it obvious? They're flowers." I replied.

Jade and Amber laughed. "I thought they were starfishes." Amby commented.

I scowled. E di kayo na ang artistic! Obra maestra ko kaya 'to!

"Tingnan niyo 'to!" Casper said excitedly.

"Kuya, ang cute naman. Boots ba yan?" Tanong ni Jade.

"Hindi a! Glass slippers 'to e." He replied.

All three of us laughed. "Mukha bang glass slipper yan sayo?" I teased.

"E ikaw nga yung bulaklak mo mukhang starfish!" He yelled back.

"What did you say?!" I asked angrily.

"Mukha kang starfish!" He shouted.

"Mukha kang boots!" I shouted back.

"Ano ba! Kanina yung mga ginawa niyo lang yung iniinsulto niyo, ngayon pati sarili niyo na." Jade told us.

"Well, I didn't start it, he did." I scowled, gesturing to Casper with the scissors in my hand.
