I locked the door. That damn Casper won't get in. I won't let him in. Bahala siya sa buhay niya.

I heard the engine of a tricycle outside and I knew that he's home.

Then there's the footsteps as he went up the stone stairs. I looked at the doorknob move as he tried to open it.

"Amber. Buksan mo yung pinto." He called.

"Buksan mong mag-isa." I answered.

"Amber, hindi ako nagbibiro." Sabi niya threateningly.

"Bakit? Did I say na nagbibiro ka? I'm not joking either." Sagot ko.

"Buksan mo na nga sabi!" He said in a louder voice.

I scoffed. "Sinisigawan mo ba ako?" I said in a fake, pained voice.

"Buksan mona lang kasi." He said, more calmly this time.

"Say 'please'." I ordered.

"Buksan mo na. Please." He said, stressing the word.

"Say that I'm a glamorous and beautiful star and that you're a stupid loser." Utos ko.

"Ba't ko naman sasabihin 'yon?" He replied, annoyed.

"Then sleep outside." I said.

There's no answer after that but I heard whispering outside the door. I went closer to the doorway and listened.

"Sandali lang, Gabby. Nagpapaka-immature na naman kasi si Amber e."

Gabby? I turned the lock and pried the door open.

Casper is standing there. Together with Gabby.

Iihawin ko talaga yang swordfish na yan e.

Casper looked surprised. "Bubuksan mo rin naman pala e, kung ano-ano pang kalokohan yang pinapagawa mo sa 'kin." He said as he went passed me and dragged Gabby inside the house by her hand.

My eyes followed them stupidly. What the heck is this situation?

I closed the door and went after them.

Gabby is sitting on the couch and Casper is coming from the kitchen na may dalang isang basong tubig. He gave it to Gabby saying, "Uminom ka muna."

Then he sat down beside her and asked, "Ano bang nangyari?"

Gabby shook her head.

"Kung walang nangyari, bakit ka naman ganito ha? Imposibleng walang nangyari... Sabihin mo na, okay?" Casper said with voice dripped with understanding.

The heck? It's the voice that he uses to comfort me. So hindi lang pala sa 'kin nagagamit 'yung boses na 'yon. This useless thing of a traitor!

Gabby looked up at me, and her eyes are saying something like, 'Wala akong sasabihin kung nandito siya'.

"Bakit? Anong problema mo sa 'kin?" I said.

Perhaps she saw that I won't budge even if Casper tells me to. "Next time na lang." She told him.

"Sige. Pagod ka na din yata e. Sumabay ka na sa 'min kumain para makatulog ka na." Casper answered.

Jade isn't home so si Jairus ang nagluto. Nevertheless, kahit naman nandito si Jade, magvo-volunteer pa rin si Jairus na magluto. He's on his feet now and he can already maneuver by himself around the house.

I set the table, still glaring at Gabby. Lasunin ko kaya 'tong babaeng 'to nang matapos na lahat?

Ay, ewan. I'm starting to think like a murderer.
