Usagi 86
>>>>CHAPTER 86<<<<
>>>>And Now's When Shit Gets Real<<<<
Waking up next to the love of your life was one of the best feelings in the world.
It was a feeling both Neji and Usagi experienced on that cloudy morning in Ame, and was a feeling they could both get used to.
"... You're awake?" Neji glanced at the tired girl next to him. He had just woken up not long ago himself, maybe a minute or two prior to him noticing a change in Usagi's breathing pattern. She shook her head in answer to his question, snuggling up to his bare chest.
"... I know you're awake now." He said.
"... I'm not..." Usagi said, her voice a little raspy from just having woken up.
"Shouldn't you get up? You must have a lot of work to do."
"..." Instead of getting out of bed one she had seated herself upwards, Usagi shot up only to lean back down to where Neji was. "Last night." She placed a hand over his chest as she spoke. "When you spoke about the Hyuga... I had an idea." It was early, almost too early for her words to register properly. "Stay here." She said. "With me."
Neji blinked. "... Stay in the Hidden Rain?"
She nodded. Usagi knew Neji didn't like living in the Hyuga complex, and she wanted to pull him away from that, and now, now that she had a new place to call home, she could do that. "You can help me." She said.
The idea sounded promising, Neji able to picture how things would play out in his head with ease.
Usagi was pretty irresponsible, she would need a lot of help running a village, and Neji... well, there wasn't really anything necessarily keeping him in the Leaf. It wasn't like Usagi could move into the compound like his clan members would have liked, and Neji didn't want to have to live away from his wife... "It's not a bad idea." Neji said. "It's just a bad time right now."
Usagi understood. They real reason he had come was to unite the Rain and the Leaf. They needed more shinobi for the war arising.
How could they be thinking about their selfish future when so many people would soon be sacrificing their lives?
Things would work out one way or another, but now was not the time to discuss it.
He had to be on his way, to return to the Leaf to complete the small mission he and his teammates had been sent on.
Usagi said her goodbyes to Neji, Lee, Tenten, and Guy later that morning, seeing them off as they headed out of Ame's gates and off into the open rain.
"We'll come back soon!"
"Bye!"
Usagi smiled and waved, as they walked away.
Once they were out of her sight, she let out a deep sigh. Now, it was back to work for her.

"Thank you for doing that mission on such short notice." Tsunade looked at team Guy, smiles on each of their faces as they stood before her in her office. "Usagi's doing well?"
Tenten frowned, muttering out her answer under her breath. "Ask Neji, she spent all her time with him after all." She didn't mind that Usagi spent more time with Neji than she did her or Lee, but watching them walk away together, only to return right before they were about to leave the next morning? It was a bit annoying, especially when Tenten had wanted to spend some time with the girl.
