Usagi twenty two

"So it's been decided. Your new training schedule begins today!"
Naruto fangirled with excitement. "YEAHH!!"
"But first..." Kakashi went off talking about chakra, which Naruto knew nothing about.
"But Usagi slept during class too! Why does she know what catra is?" Naruto asked.
"Because she, unlike you, studied." Sakura poked her tongue out at Naruto.
"Hey, I've never once seen Usagi pay attention during class!" Naruto said.
Usagi whacked him over the head with her book. Nobody else noticed it, but Kakashi was giving her death glares. He was not impressed by Naruto’s statement and felt the need to scold Usagi’s bad habits that she more than likely picked up from him. It was slightly contradictory, but parenting never really made much sense anyway.
"Ahem... So, as I was saying, you learn to control your body and chakra through only the harshest training."
The students were intrigued. "What are we doing?"
"We're climbing trees."
An explanation, an upside down Kakashi, and a group of complaining students later, they were ready to begin the exercise.
"Usagi, I want you to practice your genjutsu." Kakashi said, coming down from his tree.
While Usagi began to practice her genjutsu, which was almost useless by the way, seeing as Usagi had almost no talent for it. She knows very well when she's in a genjutsu, and she knows how to escape them, but she's never been able to cast them.
"This is easy!" Sakura yelled, sitting on top of a tree branch.
"It would seem that our young girls have the best chakra control." Kakashi smiled.
"That’s amazing! You go, Sakura!" Naruto cheered.
"Well, understanding the use of ones chakra and using it to your will successfully is quite an achievement... Usagi and Sakura have a much better chance at being Hokage, despite all of Naruto’s boasts... And it looks like the great Uchiha clan isn't so great after all."
This statement angered both boys. Even though Usagi was half Uchiha, and Sasuke knew this, he was still pissed off. He was a pure blooded Uchiha. He was better than her.
With their newfound motivation, the two charged on with their training.
"Can you already walk up trees, Usagi?" Sakura asked. Usagi nodded, taking a break from her useless genjutsu training. It would never work, Usagi wondered why Kakashi still made her try.
It was then, Naruto walked over to the girls, asking for help.
"Can you guys help me get the hang of this?"
As Sakura explained how chakra works, Usagi set off to talk to her dad.
"It's not working." She complained as she approached her dad.
"At all?" Kakashi asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Nothing." Usagi shook her head. She had no genjutsu skills whatsoever.
"We'll have to speak with the Hokage about this." He sighed. 'Great... More problems...'
"Sorry." She kicked the ground, raising a little bit of dirt. It frustrated Usagi to know she couldn't use genjutsu. She had tried, she really had, but no matter how much she tried it would never work.
"Don't worry about it, Usagi. You can protect Tazuna instead." Kakashi smiled, patting Usagi’s head.
"'Kay." Usagi nodded.
--Protecting Tazuna--
Usagi and Sakura sat down at the construction site. They were in charge of protecting Tazuna while Naruto and Sasuke continued their training.
"Just you two?" Tazuna asked. "Where's blondie and pretty-boy?"
"Training." Sakura answered.
"Why aren't you with them?" He asked.
"We surpassed them." Sakura smiled smugly. "Kakashi-Sensei told us to stay here and protect you."
"... Really?" Tazuna mumbled. He then went on to continue working... Until someone quit on him.
Usagi resisted the temptation of throwing a book at his head.
"You don't have to come back, Giichi." Tazuna said. "Let's call it a day."
The two ninja then set off with Tazuna into town.
"My daughter asked me to pick up some things for lunch on the way home." Tazuna explained as they walked through the dull streets.
The town was poor, there were hardly any supplies available in stores and not only adults, but children were begging in the streets.
"Here we are." The three walked into a store, which was almost complexly empty. After grabbing what they needed, they continued along their way... Until...
"PERVERT!!" Sakura kicked a guy straight across the face.
... Well, continuing on their way...
A young child tugged on Sakura’s dress.
Seeing it was only a small child, Sakura gave him, or her, or both, can't really tell, some candy.
"It's been like this ever since Gato came. We've become a city of cowards and fools. That’s why the bridge were building is so essential. It will be an emblem of courage. If we can complete it, I truly believe our city and people can be what they once were again."
... What a touching story. <3
So the three made their way home, and Usagi helped Tsunami with cooking.
"You're very good at cooking." Tsunami smiled as Usagi helped her. "Not many girls your age cook much. Do you cook a lot at home?"
Usagi nodded. She kind of had to if she wanted to eat something other than rice or miso soup. You see, Kakashi was kind of hopeless when it came to cooking new foods, so Usagi would do most of the cooking at home. Lucky for her, and him, she was a quick learner.
"Kakashi is your father, right?" Tsunami asked. Usagi nodded. She figured it out quick. "He's lucky to have such a lovely daughter."
---- ---- ---- ----
"I can't remember the last time I shared a meal with so many people!" Tazuna laughed.
Everyone sat around the table, eating the meal that Tsunami and Usagi had prepared. Naruto and Sasuke were particularly fond of the meal before them.
"MORE PLEASE!!" They shoved food in their mouths and held out their bowls.
Two seconds later, they threw up all their food onto the floor. Grot.
"STOP EATING IF YOUR JUST GONNA HURL IT UP!!" Sakura screamed.
"... No, I want to eat..." Sasuke wiped his mouth.
"Even if we make ourselves sick, we need to eat if we want to get strong!" Naruto smiled.
So, dinner was eaten carefully from then on, so that there was no more throwing up.
"Thank you, Tsunami." Kakashi smiled.
"No problem." She returned the smile. "You're daughter is a wonderful cook."
Everyone around the table went silent.
"... Daughter?" Naruto said, his mind in a state of ignorant confusion. "Who's Kakashi-Sensei’s daughter?"
"... OH MY KAMI!!" Sakura squealed as she pieced it together. "I knew it! It all makes sense now! You guys always show up everywhere together, and you both act the same... You're always so protective of her! I can't believe it! She's your daughter!"
"Wait, you mean..." Naruto processed everything. "So... You two... Are... YOU MEAN, HE'S YOUR DAD?!"
Usagi nodded. [Congratulations, it only took you seven years to figure it out.]
"But you look nothing alike!" Naruto yelled.
"He's not her real father, you idiot." Sasuke scoffed. He knew what happened to Usagi’s real father. News travelled fast within the Uchiha compound, so when it was found out that Itsuki had a daughter, everyone knew the news within the hour.
"What happened to your real father?" Sakura asked. She never knew when to stop talking.
Noticing the saddened look on Usagi’s face, Sakura quickly spoke up. "Never mind..."
"You must be a horrible parent!" Naruto laughed, lightening the mood. "You're so lazy and-"
"Don't be so rude!" Sakura whacked Naruto over the head, but she was secretly thinking it too.
"I'm not that bad... Am I?" Kakashi turned to his daughter.
[You try your best.]
As Kakashi anime cried, Naruto continued to yell. "So then you really are an old man!" He pointed at Kakashi accusingly. "Usagi’s 12, so you must be ancient by now!"
"... I’m only 26..." Kakashi mumbled.
"How old were you when you took in Usagi?" Tazuna asked.
"I was 18, Usagi was 4." Kakashi answered. Tazuna nodded, showing a range of emotions. Admiration, shock... It's not every day an 18 year old boy adopts a 4 year old girl.
"At least I know why you’re always late for everything now." Sakura said.
"... If you're her dad, does that mean you've heard her talk?!" Naruto asked.
Kakashi smirked. "Maybe."
That got everyone's attention. "What does she sound like?" Discussion buzzed, mutters of all their thoughts and opinions being voiced.
[I’m right here.] Usagi held up her notebook.
"... Does that mean you've seen his face before?" Sakura asked, motioning to Kakashi’s mask.
Usagi shrugged her shoulders, a small smirk on her face.
"WHAT'S HE LOOK LIKE?!"
---- ---- ---- ----
"Why is this picture torn?"
They group had finished their dinner, and were now drinking some tea around the table.
"Little Inari was looking at it the whole time we were having dinner... Someone’s face is completely gone. Is that deliberate?" Sakura asked.
"It was a picture of Inari’s father." Tsunami said.
Tazuna then went on to tell a story. "Once upon a time if you will... Our entire city called him a hero."
Inari stood up, slamming the door as he left the room.
"Inari!" Tsunami chased after him. "Father! I've told you time and again not to mention that in front of my son!" She left the room with a huff, running to find her son.
"It sounds like there's a story there..." Kakashi said.
Tazuna then went on to explain the story. "The man in the picture was not Inari’s birth father... But they were as close as any biological father and son could have been... Thinking about it now, they were just like you two." Tazuna pointed to Kakashi and Usagi. "Inari was happy. He would always laugh... But he changed... He changed after what happened to his father."
(I’m writing the Inari/Kaiza story in a strange fashion, but go with it)
Three years ago, Inari was saved by a fisherman named Kaiza.
Soon, the two acted like father and son, and within no time, Kaiza was welcomed into the family...
But one day, the riverbanks were overflowing, and the locks saving the town had been forced open.
Saving the town from a huge flood, Kaiza jumped into the rampaging water, securing the locks, and saving the town.
From that day on, he was known as the town hero.
... Until Gato came to town.
Infront of the entire city, Gato had Kaiza put to death.
Since that day, Inari, Tsunami... The whole town changed.
--end strange storytelling--
Simultaneously, Usagi and Naruto stood up, Usagi however tripped over, falling face first into the ground.
"Are you alright?" Kakashi asked. Usagi nodded, standing up again. As Naruto started walking, he fell over too.
For ninja, they are really clumsy.
"Don't even think about training any more today." Kakashi said. "If you try to train any more without getting some rest first, it'd probably kill you."
"I’m gonna prove that he's wrong!" Naruto said, pushing himself off the ground. "I’m gonna show Inari that there are still heroes in the world!"
As Naruto left the room, Usagi pulled out her notebook.

AN/ So nobody responded to the message I left on the last chapter… Yeah.
I write this story for myself, not for anyone else, so the fact that not many people read doesn’t bother me. I was never going to post this story actually, but I did for some reason. Looking back, I think I shouldn’t have. The early chapters are really poorly written (This one included.). The whole thing is really. I wrote all of these chapters two years ago, so my writing was far from good (And honestly still needs a lot of work). But oh well. I’m not gonna rewrite it.
On a lighter note, 1000 reads! Yay! :3
Thank you for reading.
