Usagi ten

"Lord Hokage, I think Usagi should be put in the next grade." Iruka said. "She's scored 100% on every test she’s taken, she can perform advanced jutsus, and the work she’s receiving now is far too easy for her-"

"No." The Hokage cut him off. "She will stay in the grade she’s in now and graduate with them."

Iruka protested against the Third. Usagi was eight years old now, and her grades were only improving. "But Lord Hokage, she-"

"I said no. Usagi is a very smart girl, but putting her on a genin team now would be a bad move. While she is very advanced in her schoolwork and ninjutsu, her taijutsu and speed still need much work."

"Lord Hokage, Her taijutsu and speed are at a normal level for her age. If she were to move up a grade, she would only improve them further."

"The answer is no, and that's final." The Hokage said, a stern tone in his voice. He couldn't say his true reason for keeping the young girl in her grade, as only a select few knew about the true powers of her kekkei genkai.

The rinnegan was an extremely complex eye jutsu. Even though Usagi was advanced in her normal schoolwork, she was having trouble with her eyes. The amount of power they held was overwhelming, too much for the girl at her current age. Moving her into a higher class would only create more stress for her.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, Lord Hokage." Iruka left with a sigh.

"You did well, Usagi." Kakashi smiled as his daughter, who was now panting from training.

"But... I missed the target..." Usagi said, a look of disappointment on her face.

"But you've improved." Kakashi said, placing a hand on the girls head.

"It's really hard..." Usagi pouted, reminding Kakashi that despite how powerful she was, she was still only eight. "Why… Why is the rinnegan so confusing? I don't know how to use it at all..."

"When I first got my sharingan, I didn't know how to use it either." Kakashi attempted to somewhat console Usagi.

"But I've had the rinnegan for four years. I've been practicing the Deva path nonstop, and I still have almost no control of it." Usagi was really upset. Only once had Kakashi seen her talkative before, and it was when she was angry. Guy had managed to break her favourite ribbon, and... Well, it’s a long story. Moral is, when she’s upset or angry, Usagi talks more. But only around Kakashi, as he's still the only person she speaks around.

"Why not try another path?" Kakashi suggested. "There's six paths to choose from."

"... I thought this one would be good to start with..."

The rinnegan granted the wielder the ability to perform the Six Paths jutsu. To put it simply, there are six paths. There is the Deva path, the Asura path, the Human path, the Animal path, the Preta path and the Naraka path. There's an old legend of a seventh, Outer path, but there's no real information on it.

With these six paths, each has their own unique jutsu that comes with it. The Deva path, which Usagi has been focusing on, gives the user power to manipulate objects, attracting and repelling them at their will.

So far, Usagi has been able to push a ball a distance of ten metres. There's also a time limit between using this jutsu. Between each move, Usagi has to wait a minute. Over the month she’s improved from a five minute resting period to one, and the push is gaining power with each practice.

"Don't give up, Usagi. You're doing well."

"... Thanks Dad." She smiled.

"Why don't we take a break for a little while?" Kakashi suggested. "Afterwards, I could teach you the shadow clone jutsu."

Usagi nodded, sitting down next to her dad.

"You're being quiet again... So, you've calmed down?"

"... Yeah." Usagi mumbled, making him laugh. Kakashi was observant about things like that. He knew all her habits and pet peeves.

After a short break, Kakashi showed Usagi the hand signs for the shadow clone jutsu.

"Now, just focus your chakra to your core, like you do with the regular clone jutsu."

Usagi did as Kakashi instructed, and then, with a poof of smoke, there was another Usagi.

'Of course she'd get it on the first try.' Kakashi scoffed in his head. She could master any normal ninjutsu in almost no time, so the way she struggled with the rinnegan jutsu’s shows just how high level they are. The first person to wield the rinnegan was considered a god, so to fully master the dojutsu, Usagi would also need power equal to that of a god. To be at the level she's at, and to only be eight years old... The power this girl possesses is already huge. When she’s older... She'll be unstoppable.

Kakashi noticed something was wrong with Usagi. She had her hands covering her eyes.

"What’s wrong?"

"My eyes..." She spoke softly. "It's really weird..."

"What is it?"

"I can… See from four of them."

After thinking about what she meant, Kakashi’s jaw nearly hit the floor. "You mean... Your vision is joint with the clones?"

Usagi nodded, standing back to back with her clone. "I can see... Both ways."

Just to be sure, Kakashi stood in front of the clone. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

"Three." Usagi answered, still facing the other way.

"What about now?"

"All of them."

"Now?"

"None of them."

Kakashi processed what had happened in his head. 'So… If she were to make more clones, her field of vision would increase further... Amazing...'

"Dad?" Usagi’s clone poofed away. "Is... Something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. I do think we should call it a day though. We could get some ramen then go home."

Usagi nodded at the thought of ramen. After a day of training, nothing was better than a big bowl of miso ramen.

That miso ramen was heavenly.
