Usagi 63
>>>>CHAPTER 63<<<<

Usagi stood, the last of the 30 root ANBU that had been tailing her standing in front of her.
The ANBU's posture was hunched over, his breathing heavy. Scared. He was scared.
This girl... She was a monster. She had ploughed through all 29 root ANBU members as if they were children, and she did it all without even thinking twice.
"..." Usagi glared at the last ninja, her eyes cold.
He didn't want to die. Not without avenging his comrades.
"... Those ninja that were sent to locate Sasuke Uchiha..." He began speaking, his voice not wavering despite how tired he was. "They've been injured."
Usagi paused. "... How?" She asked, not quite believing his words.
"That explosion that went off an hour ago, they were there."
Usagi's eyes widened as she thought. That explosion, it had been where Sasuke and Deidara were fighting. If Konoha had discovered that was his location and tried to find him... The blast was so huge it would have killed them.
Usagi had originally planned on going to Ame to speak with Nagato... but she couldn't go with the thought her friends may be dead or injured.
So she ran, leaving the ANBU.
He collapsed to the ground, watching in relief as Usagi bolted through the trees, running towards the Leaf Village.
A small smile came across his face. Danzo would be proud. He was a clever ninja, he had both saved his own life and ended hers with a mere few words.
Human emotions are truly a wonderful thing in battle. It's so easy to manipulate people, to get them to believe your every word.
ANBU root were especially skilled when it came to manipulation. They didn't have emotions of their own, but they could bend other peoples to their comply to their orders and wants within seconds.
Roots only goal was to follow Danzo's orders, and Danzo would truly be pleased with this.

After running for what seemed like an eternity, Usagi had finally made it to the gates of the Leaf Village.
She ran up to the shinobi who were sitting by the entrance, slamming her hands down on the wooden bench they sat behind.
She was out of breath, a layer of sweat covering her face as she spoke.
"T-Team Seven and Eight!" She stuttered, too overwhelmed to get the words out correctly. "Are... How..."
The two shinobi recognized the girl. "Team Seven and Eight haven't returned from their mission." One said.
"Ok? They're ok?"
"They're fine so far as we know."
Usagi sighed with relief, but only a moment later, anger started bubbling up within her.
That ANBU... He had lied to her.
'Shit.' Usagi ran a hand through her hair. She was in trouble now. Why had he wanted her to return to the village? Just what had he-
"Usagi Hatake." A deep, raspy voice spoke up, one that sent shivers down the girls' spine.
Slowly, the girl turned around to look at the man who had said her name.
