Zoe's POV
I must have slept through until morning because when I woke up, my alarm was blaring. My cold had decreased to a cough and a slight ache in my head, that would suit my mother just fine.
"Good morning Zoe." My dad walks into my room. "Your mother had to head to work early today so I came to get you up." My dad is a bit of a push over. He does everything my mother tells him to do and he agrees with everything she says. He's usually the first one to leave for work so he doesn't actually know that my mother doesn't wake me up in the morning. That job is clearly taken by my alarm clock.
"Hello." I open my eyes when I feel the bed dip. Why is he sitting?
"How was your day yesterday?" I scrunch my eyebrows up at his strange behaviour.
"Uh, fine." He nods slowly. After sitting in awkward silence for a few moments I get up. "Well I should be getting ready for school." I throw the covers off and creep to the bathroom. That was very strange, even for him. Once I get to the bathroom and lock the door behind me, I sigh at the thought of going to school sick. On the bright side, at least I don't have a runny nose. I hate that more that anything.
I look up at my reflection in the mirror to find I'm wearing a one of my navy sweaters. I don't remember putting this on, but I don't usually remember a lot of things when I'm sick. Maybe the boys put it on me, I was very cold yesterday. I quickly jump in the shower and get myself ready for the day.
When I walk into my bedroom I find my dad has left so I can have my privacy. I quickly slip on my skirt and top uniform because my mother isn't home. I'm not as cold as I was yesterday because my fever has gone down. I slide on my shoes and grab my school bag as I walk out of my bedroom and down to the kitchen for breakfast. My dad is no where in sight when I get downstairs so I assume he's in his room or in his office. I quickly grab a granola bar and head upstairs so I can brush my teeth. Once I finish I head out the door and off to school.
I'm excited to see the boys today and ask them what they did while I was sleeping. I also need to know if Ashton is going to blow me off again this afternoon. Speaking of Ashton, I should really brush up on my drumming at lunch. Luke isn't meeting up with me today so it will be good to just lose myself in the drumming.
"Good morning guys." I walk up behind them and they all quickly turn around and smile at me.
"Zoe! Should you be at school?" Calum questions me and I shrug. They all give me a quick hug and then we continue walking in the direction they were going in.
"Yeah so I got us a gig next week at the Rockport Pub." Luke says casually as Calum and Michaels eyes widen as they look at him.
"Seriously?" Michael smiles as bright as the sun and Calum bro hugs Luke.
"Good one man." Michael comes and hugs me and I smile at the news. I've never been to one of their concerts before but I'm sure they're good.
"Have you told Ash?" He shakes his head.
"I was going to this morning but he's not coming until later." The boys nod and quickly switch conversations.
"Hey Luke," I catch the tall boys attention and he smiles down at me. "Thanks for yesterday."
"No problem."
"But can I ask what you did and how I ended up in a sweater." He snorts at my words.
"Well we spent the rest of the day watching movies and we turned your aircon on because it was hot." He laughs at the thought of it. "But then Michael and Calum got cold so they decided to use the end of your blanket to keep themselves warm but they ended up stealing all of the blanket so you got really cold." He pokes my side and I swat his hands away. "It was very adorable Zoe." He laughs and I pout as it isn't funny. "Anyway you like wrapped yourself around me." He demonstrates by wrapping himself around Calum that is walking in front of us.
