Skincare
1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
Once in the morning and once at night
2. What skin type do you have?
It's more combo than anything else. It's dry on my cheeks and forehead but right in my T-zone it will get pretty oily at times.
3. What is your current facial wash?
Literally, it's just body wash. My mom doesn't buy specific wash for our faces so I just use body wash.
4. Do you exfoliate?
If you count we wiping a washcloth over my face with just water on it before I actually put soap on my face.
5. What moisturizer do you use?
I use Ponds. I got it from Walmart for like a dollar and it works really well.
6. Do you have freckles?
Yes, but not from sun damage, mine are genetic. Thanks mom. They don't actually bother me. I don't have many on my face; they're more on my arms and even there they are pretty spaced out.
7. Do you use eye cream?
No, that just sounds weird to me.
8. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I usually only get acne near my period otherwise my skin stays clear.
9. Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No, but my sister Morgan uses it now. The only thing I use on any acne I get is rubbing alcohol or I think it's Clean N' Clear spot treatment.
There was some questions about Make-up next but I don't wear make-up and I therefore skipped the questions. So I added a hair tag on in the make-up part's place.
Hair
1. Why did you start taking better care of your hair?
Because it's better for it.
2. What are your 2 favorite hair products?
I don't really use hair products. I'll occasionally straighten my hair but it takes too long. I use dry shampoo on a regular basis in between washes.
3. Who's hair did you admire as a child?
No one's. I didn't pay attention to others hair and still don't really pay attention.
4. What is your ultimate goal length?
I can't really take a good picture right now because I'm wearing a black shirt and my hair is dyed black and red, but it you go back a few section in this book I have a picture with how long my hair is and I only want to grow it out another few inches from that.
5. How are you going to celebrate when you reach your ultimate goal length?
Nothing.
6. Two styles you want to try at your goal length?
Leaving my hair natural, which I already do all the time. That's it. I have nothing else.
7. Which do you prefer: Health or Length?
Health because you can always keep your hair healthy at any length.
8. Which do you prefer: hair ties with no metal parts or butterfly clips?
Hair ties with no metal parts. I hate the metal ones, it hurts.
9. What products do you prefer: salon brands, organic brands, BSS brands, drugstore brands, or other?
Whatever my mom buys, which is generic most of the time
10. Which product/technique do you think is over-rated?
I don't really think any of them because I don't care what others do with their hair. They've obviously put more effort into their hair than I did into mine considering I literally only re-part my hair when I get up. I don't even fully brush my hair, literally just part my hair and go to school.
11. Which product/technique do you think is under-rated?
See previous answer
12. What is your favorite part of your hair regimen?
Literally, just towel drying my hair and calling it good enough.
13. What is the most annoying part of your hair regimen?
The fact that when I dry my hair with a towel, the towel turns red from the red hair dye in my hair. That and when I wash my hair, or just get it wet, it looks like I killed someone or that my period exploded like a bomb.
14. Oils or butters?
I've never put either in my hair.
15. Buns or ponytails?
Depends on my mood and how oily my hair is that day.
16. Wigs or weaves?
I wouldn't do either, but you do you.
17. What is your opinion of growth aids?
If it works for you, it works for you. I'll just wait patiently unlike my sister who uses horse shampoo.
18. At what length do you consider hair long?
To me, when it falls past your shoulder blades. To my friend, when it falls to your shoulder.
19. When is the last time you visited a salon?
This past Tuesday to get the red back into my hair.
20. What do you like to surf most often: YouTube channels, personal blogs, or hair forums?
I don't look for anything hair related just casually. If I am looking it's for a specific reason and I use Google.
21. And finally, what piece of advice would you give to someone just starting out on their hair journey?
Keep your hair healthy. You're not supposed to wash your hair everyday, but really like every 4-5 days. If your hair is used to you washing it everyday or every other day, then it will take time before you'll be able to go 4-5 days without washing your hair. Use dry shampoo to help absorb oil between washes. When putting conditioner in your hair only put it in the end, not on the roots. Act like you are putting your hair up in a ponytail and only put the conditioner in the part that is the actual ponytail. Also, it takes time for your hair to grow out so be patient.
