So I found this list on Tumblr and I thought it would be fun to go through the list and see what books I've read from this list or if these books are on my to read list. Like I did the last time I had a massive ass book list I'll give my opinion on the book if I've read it. Bold means I've read the book. Italics means it is on my TBR.
# 1 The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
I've read the first book in this trilogy, The Fellowship of the Rings. It was okay. I liked it but it was a little hard for me to get into it and it took me a while to read simply because I didn't feel like reading it. I had to listen to an audiobook to follow along with so that I could finish it. The other 2 books in the trilogy are on my TBR.
# 2 1984
I have read this book for AP English Literature & Composition my senior year. I hated it. It took me a bit to read and I had to force myself to sit and read it. I like utopia/dystopia books, but not this fucking one.
# 3 Pride and Prejudice
Can't really give my opinion yet since I haven't read it.
# 4 The Grapes of Wrath
I read this for AP English Literature & Composition too. I fucking hated it. I hate John Steinbeck with a fucking passion. However, I will give him that this is the best book I've read by him. Still a 1.5 out of 5. I have a review on my Goodreads with a full review for this book that goes into exactly why I didn't like this book.
# 5 To Kill a Mockingbird
I loved this book. I read it my sophomore year. It's on my TBR list to read for the second time. I would say this is one the best books I've had to read for school and one I actually enjoyed reading.
# 6 Jane Eyre
Can't rate this but it's on my TBR.
# 7 Wuthering Heights
Can't rate but on TBR
# 8 A Passage to India
Haven't heard of this book and I tried looking it up but there are 2 different books with the same title by different authors.
# 9 The Lord of The Flies
I've read this. It was okay. I listened to the audiobook in 2017 while I was doing homework and sich.
# 10 Hamlet
I read this for AP English Literature & Composition. It is by far my favorite book/play from my senior year. I loved it. I would read it again.
# 11 A Bend in the River
I haven't heard of this, but it sounds interesting and may eventually get added to my TBR.
# 12 The Great Gatsby
I read this my junior year for Honors English and I fucking hated it. The book is by no means long (like under 120 pages) and it took us 9 weeks to read it. I hated it so fucking much. However, I enjoyed the 2013 version of the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio. It actually gave me an idea for my own story.
# 13 The Catcher in the Rye
I read this for Honors English and let me fucking tell you, this is my favorite book I have ever read for an English class. I fucking love it so much. I relate hardcore to Holden. It's on my TBR to read again. I read so far ahead while we were reading this for class. Like we were supposed to read only chapter 1 and I read about halfway through the book.
