Another quarter has come to an end, so I'm here to recap this last quarter and share my new goals for this quarter.
This a recap of my winter 2016 Quarterly Goals. I originally started this as a writing only goals segment, but expanded it last quarter to include anything I want. I got this idea from Jenna Moreci, and she's not the only one to do this. I go by seasons, actual seasons. Some people will call it the spring quarter but use April, May, and June (when summer actually starts in June). I'm picky ass hell, and it will bother me to the ends of the Earth if I did that. So I go by the actual season start and ends dates. This is the spring quarter, because it is now officially spring.
*Note: If I accomplish 50% of my goals, I'm successful.*
*Other Note: I use this to help to stay productive and prevent procrastination.*
So a recap of my winter goals.
Winter Quarter Dates: December 21, 2016 - March 19, 2017
Goals:
1. Write 3 chapters for City of Bones: Jace's POV
I finished this goal rather early in the quarter, which is a million times better than the fall quarter considering I had this goal for then originally.
2. Rewrite my anatomy notes for Chapters 6-11
I finished this goal actually this past weekend. It was a bit of work, but I did it.
3. Apply to a STEM Fellows Program in Cleveland
I accomplish this early in the quarter, too. If you follow my updates on An Ending, you would know I applied and had an interview for the program. Currently, I should be receiving their decision on if I get into the program or not in the next few days.
4. Write 10 parts for Ask Me Questions
I accomplished this early. I actually accomplished this before the end of my Christmas break. I'll share what the parts are titled that I wrote for this goal. It's pretty much anything in between this update on my quarterly and the last one. I didn't count everyone though, I only counted the original 10 I wrote. I ended up doing a tag and rant in there, I think to, but I wasn't planning on doing those, and I didn't count them towards my total. I'll put a list of the parts I counted.
- Let's Play A Game of Unpopular Opinions
- 50 Questions I've Never Been Asked
- why I write
- July - December 2016 Book Haul
- July - December 2016 Reading Overview
- To Get Your Mind Flowing . . . And My Opinion
- Confessions
- Studyblr
- we All Have Problems Occasionally
- My Anticipated Reads of 2017
5. Write 5 reviews for Book of Reviews
I accomplished this goal in mid-February. I wrote a few more reviews than I needed to, but I started writing reviews for a series, so I obviously had to finish writing said reviews for the series. I couldn't do the first 2 books and then just not review the 3rd. So here are the books I wrote reviews for:
- Divergent by Veronica Roth
- Insurgent by Veronica Roth
- Ulysses by James Joyce
- The Grapes of wrath by John Steinbeck
- Sir, I Think the Bad Boy Knows About Us . . . by makeandoffer
- Allegiant by Veronica Roth
- Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth
- Beloved by Toni Morrison
- Consumed by AliciaMarino
6. Edit Chapters 1-6 of Catching Fire: Peeta's POV
I did this. You can check all of the edited chapters out.
7. Read 6 books outside of school reading
I went above and beyond for this. My reading challenge for 2017 is to read 48 books. This quarterly goal was to read 6 books outside of school, and my reading challenge I include the books I've read for school. But, I'll share what I've read thus far:
- Divergent by Veronica Roth
- Insurgent by Veronica Roth
- Ulysses by James Joyce
- A Dark Imperfection by LaDameBlanche
- The Call of the wild by Jack London
- The Raven: Tales and Poems by Edgar Allan Poe
- The Aleph and Other Stories by Jorge Luis Borges
- The Time Machine by H.G. wells
- The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
- Sir, I Think the Bad Boy Knows About Us . . . by makeandoffer
- Candide by Voltaire
- The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
- The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli
- Allegiant by Veronica Roth
- The Sorrows of Young werther by Johann wolfgang von Goethe
- Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth
- Consumed by AliciaMarino
- First Love...Only Love by Sinaidkinaid16
- The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
(Add the 2 books I read for English in the winter quarter [The Grapes of wrath by John Steinbeck and Beloved by Toni Morrison] and you get 22 books for my 2017 reading challenge. Divergent got counted for my 2016 challenge yet, since I read in the end of December.)
Now for my spring goals. Most of these are the same, but I'm upping the amount of progress I want to make on them.
Spring Quarter Dates: March 20, 2017 - June 20, 2017
Goals:
1. Write 12 Parts for Ask Me Questions
(I have some ideas for these already, but I've been contemplating doing storytimes for you guys too. You know like how some YouTubers have done storytimes like "The Time I . . ." So leave ideas for that in the comments.)
2. Make Anatomy Quizlet Vocabulary for Chapters 6-11
(I have some of these done like for chapters 1-5. Then, starting at Chapter 12, I started making them as I learn the chapter.)
3. Rewrite Anatomy Notes for Chapters 12, 15, 16, 18, & 21
(we started skipping around in the second semester, so that's why it's not every single chapter.)
4. Rewrite Statistic Notes
(This is all of my stats notes. They're kind of a mess, so I want to rewrite these for college.)
5. Edit Catching Fire: Peeta's POV Chapters 7-13
(I'm pacing myself with this book or I'm making myself a schedule to make sure that I finish editing this book within a year, otherwise it will take me another 4 years.)
6. Write City of Bones: Jace's POV Chapters 5-10
This will bring me up to the end of part 1 + a chapter.
7. Read 8 Books Outside of School
(I read quite a few books outside of school last quarter so I'm raising the number this time. But, I'm not putting to high with exams and shit coming up.)
