Not a Big Surprise with All the Shit To Do

Okay, first my 'w' key still doesn't work. So I'm still copying and pasting. I was going to get my keyboard fixed but since I'll probably have to get a different computer for college next August, I'll probably just wait until then. Also, side note if the 'w' is supposed to be capitalized, it won't in this part because I'm not going to go and copy and paste a capital w just to go back and have to copy a lowercase one again. So all the 'w' are lowercase now.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll move onto today's (or I guess this week's since I update this once a week) topic. Stress.

I'm writing this because I've been feeling particularly stressed these past few weeks to the point this is the first thing I'm writing since school has started (with the exception of An Ending). I just really haven't had the time for it too, which makes me sad and pissed off. I've had so much to do these past few weeks. I mean if anyone of you have seen what classes I'm taking this year. I mean let me just go through  what my homework has been for these classes most days.

I'll use my first day of school homework load to start with.

- Anatomy: A/P Roots Quiz page 1 Friday

- English: Summer Reading Essay due Monday and Resume & References due Friday

- Government: Read pages 184-188

- Stats: pages 13-15 #1-9

- Advanced Math: pages  5-6 #1, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 31a and pages 11-12 #1, 7, 12, 14, 18, 20, 23, 24

For those of you who don't know don't know, the English and Government classes are both Advanced Placement (AP) courses meaning it's for college credit. which also means more work.

Then, on top of homework loads like that almost every night, I've had days like yesterday (I'm writing this on a Saturday) where I had a Anatomy test, AP Government, and American Sign Language test. Then, Monday I have a stats test, an advanced math test, and an English quiz over the book we've been reading. Also, I've been working most nights and I have to work tomorrow which is Sunday. Also, I've had bands most days. I have band today at 1:30 and I won't get back until 10:30. That's 9 hours of band which includes practice, drive time to the competition and drive time back from the competition, us actually competing, watching other bands compete, and awards. Also, factor in an hour for me having to drive to the school and back from the school since I live 30 minutes away. But hey, I only have the rest of this month and maybe the beginning of next month for marching band, then pep band starts 2 weeks later. Thankfully, pep band doesn't take nearly as much time.

So I've been stressing about that a shit ton. I've also been stress about college. All the good stuff that comes with being a senior in high school and wanting to pursue a higher education after graduation. I've applied to 2 colleges: Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, and Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I've been accepted into both. I still need to reserve my spot at Ball State though in case I change my mind from Cleveland (I probably won't, but you in case I do). I think I'm done applying to college now though. Both are at least 2.5 hours from where I live currently which was one of the things I was considering when looking at colleges. Also programs they offer because you know the college needs to have the program you want to study. So now I have to stress about scholarships so that I can pay for the fucking expensive higher education known as college or more commonly 'why the fuck am I doing this to myself?'.

Anyways, I want to mention ways to help relieve you of stress. Especially, since I know most of my readers are teenagers like me and are most likely in school yet. So I'm going to give you tips on how I manage my fucking stress.

But before I delve into that, I'm going to mention that these tips I'm going to tell you have helped me. It's not a guarantee it will help you too, but it's worth a shot. I was stressed out fucking bad last year. I was so stressed out that my entire body started producing hives as a reaction to the amount of stress I was in. I had hives for 11 months because of it. I haven't been without very long yet, like they just stopped in May.

So now the tips.

1. Power naps

I've given you an insight as to what I have to do on a daily basis somewhat more so if you've read An Ending. But I don't think I've mentioned how much sleep I get at night. I get about 2 hours of sleep a night. Yes, 2 hours. So I take power naps a lot. They're not very long naps which is why they're called power naps. well, that's part of the reason. The other reason is because it will help boost your energy level for a short while.

I sleep during lunch a lot of the time. It annoys my friend, but hey I don't have time to fucking sleep very much. That and I have insomnia so I have trouble sleeping anyway.

So take a power nap. AKA 20-30 minutes tops.

2. Exercise

Now I'm not necessarily the best person to be talking about exercising considering the extent of my exercise right now is marching band, but hey look at how long I do marching band a day. Today it's 9 hours. Of course, I'm not actually marching that entire time, but I have practice 6 days a week. But even during the off season of marching band, I do simply things like taking a walk or doing some yoga. Not the crazy yoga that requires you to be flexible because that fucking hurts me.

3. Music

Listen to songs that you love to help with mood and if you're stressing about studying, listen to classical music while studying. There are studies that prove listening to classical music while studying helps you stay more focused and helps with memory retention. If you guys would be interested I can post links to my Spotify playlists that has my writing music, my study music, my jams, etc.

4. Staying Organized

Keep your shit organized. It may seem like it will take "too long" to organize in the first place. But trust me, it will make your life so much easier. You'll know exactly where things are and when you know exactly where things are you'll stress less.

5. Time Management

I still need to work on this, but I sit down and plan out my week. I don't always get to everything. For example, I haven't gotten to any of the writing I've wanted to do for the past few weeks. So obviously there are priorities like school, work, and band in my case. But writing down my schedule helps me stay on top of things.

6. Diet

I don't mean go on a diet. I mean, eat healthy. Once again this is where my clean eating comes into play. It helps. It helps me at least.

7. Journal

Start a journal. That's pretty much what An Ending is. It's just a way for me to talk to myself. I have a lot of thoughts that go around my head and it's just a way for me to vent.

well, this has been the few things that I've been using and they're working for me. I'm going to get going from here. Now, I have some other things I want to write before I have to go to work today as it's now Sunday when I'm finishing this up.
