Lavender: Name something that relaxes you.
Reading. Writing is kinda iffy. If I'm writing a more intense part it can sometimes stress me out a bit, or if I'm worrying how a scene/chapter is going to turn out it stresses me out.
Vinyl: What is some of your favorite music?
Classic rock, alternative, rock
Incense: List your three favorite scents.
Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, vanilla, and Mediterranean sea (I have this body spray called Mediterranean Sea from Bath & Body's Italian collection. It's amazing.)
Roots: How do you ground yourself or recharge?
Be by myself. I usually just read or write then too.
Silk Sheets: Any ways you treat or spoil yourself?
Buying new books.
Paintbrushes: Do you have a creative past-time?
I write. I think you guys should know that though.
Scars: Share something difficult you've been through.
For 17 years of my life, I dealt with a verbal, mental, and physical abuse relationship. It wasn't one I could get out of for a few reasons. It was my biological father. Even when my parents were having their custody battle in court and I told the judge I didn't want to see my dad and why I didn't, he didn't believe. The judge told me I was making it all up, and that I gave myself the bruises on my arms. I was forced to go to my dad's house 50% of the time where the abuse got worse because I reminded him too much of my mom, and he told me it was my fault that my mom left him. It wasn't until I was 17 and Jackass told me to get out of his house and never come back that I finally got away. I haven't gone back since. He contacts me from time to time to belittle me. It still tears at me sometimes. I have bad days yet. It got pretty bad over this past summer (2017), but I'm coping.
Rainstorms: What helps you fall asleep?
Rain, more specifically really hard rainfall or thunderstorms.
Bones: Name one strength and one weakness.
I would say a strength is my academic achievements. A weakness would be how I let things like what happened with my dad still bother me.
Teacups: Favorite beverages?
Water, white tea, and hot chocolate.
Sealing Wax: Have you ever received a letter or written one to someone else?
Yeah. When I was in 2nd grade I had a 6th grade pen pal. Then again when I was in 6th grade I had a 2nd grade pen pal. Also when I was in 1st grade I had a pen pal from one of the local businesses in town. My elementary school was real big on pen pals.
Dragons: What makes you feel powerful, what breathes life into you?
Finish writing a chapter, making a significant dent in my To Be Read list, getting a good grade (or just good grades in general)
Soup: Comfort food?
Pretty much anything. I love food, even though my appetite decreases when I'm on my ADHD medicine.
The Moon: What's your favorite thing to do at night?
Read and watch Netflix. Also, I love to sleep at night.
Klosh: If you could go back to any three era's what would they be?
I don't really think any. While the world is kinda shit today, I feel like it was worse (in some ways) in history. Like women didn't have any rights. We have rights now (although Trump doesn't give a fuck about that and only cares about white, straight, cisgender men). Education is better than it was previously. And although discrimination is still very much present in today's society, it was more present in history. More people come out today at LGBTQIA+ now than they did previously, and there's support groups for them now.
Lace: Your favorite things to wear?
Sweatpants or leggings and a sweatshirt or long sleeved shirt
Pocketwatch: If you could be immortal or have an extremely long life span what would you pick and why?
Honestly, immortal. Although I'm agnostic atheist and believe we just fade into nothing when we die, I'm scared to die before I accomplish everything I want to in life.
Honeybee: Name something positive you have done for yourself or someone else in the last two weeks.
I'm typing these up at the end of July so keeping that in mind, I would say something positive I've done for myself is telling my supervisor when my last day of work is. Although, at this moment when I'm typing this I still have 7 days of work (so 2 weeks), I'm miserable there. I hate it so fucking much. I hate wearing the safety glasses because they don't fit over my regular glasses (but I kinda said fuck it to those and stopped wearing them). The fucking loud ass machinery gives me a fucking pounding headache, even though I'm wearing ear plugs. And those ear plugs! The ear plugs irritate the inside of my ear so fucking bad that they swell. Then the steel toed shoes I have to wear give me fucking blisters. Also, I get injured weekly if not daily with box cuts and bruises or burning myself. I talk about those injuries in A New Beginning.
Typewriter: If you had to come up with ten words to describe your life story so far, what would they be?
A lot of shit, but trying to make it better.
Blue Hair Dye: One thing you like about your appearance?
My dyed hair. I don't like my natural hair color, but it dyed black looks good. Especially with how long it is, the thickness, and how it waves/curls naturally.
Felines: Something that makes you feel better after a hard day?
Reading, sleeping, and/or watching Netflix
Poetry: If you have one, name a favorite book or poem.
I love Edgar Allan Poe's poetry. I read a collection of his poems and short stories earlier this year in a volume called The Raven. It was published by Penguin Classics.
