Summer is officially here now, so it's time for a new term of quarterly goals.
I didn't come up with the ideas of quarterly goals. I got the idea from Jenna Moreci, an author and vlogger. I like the idea of quarterly goals because of it helps me keep to a schedule and also makes goals easier to accomplish. Like breaking down editing a story into segments is easier than the whole book. What looks easier to accomplish? Edit chapter 1 or edit the whole book. To me, it's easier to break bigger projects down into smaller chunks. That's where my quarterly goals come in. So without further ado, I'll recap my goals from the spring quarter.
*Note: If I accomplish at least 50% of my goals, I consider myself successful. I purposely make my goals a bit hard to obtain to give me motivation.*
Spring Quarter Dates: March 20, 2017 - June 20, 2017
Goals:
1. Write 12 parts for Ask Me Questions
I accomplished this. I'll share the parts I wrote to accomplish this goal.
- Strive For Your Goals
- You're Not Good Enough
- How I Stay Organized
- I Answer 59 Questions
- Helpful Study Tips
- Studying Questions
- I May Get in Trouble
- Greek Gods Tag
- Bookish Habits
- 133 Questions I May or May Not Have Answered Before
- Thoughts I Think
- Tea Tag
- I'm From Ohio
- Alexander Hamilton Tag
That last one I'm literally posted right before this one. Like I'm writing this now and after I'm done, I'm going to post the Hamilton Tag and then post this. But, if you were counting that's 14 parts I wrote.
2. Make Anatomy Quizlet Vocabulary for Chapters 6-11
I got this one done really quickly. Like a week after I made the goal.
3. Rewrite Anatomy Notes for Chapters 12, 15, 16, 18, & 21
I finished this one close to the beginning of the month. This is one of the more difficult goals. It takes quite a bit to do, especially considering how many notes I have.
4. Rewrite Statistic Notes
I literally finished this goal Sunday. This was easier to do than the anatomy notes (because there's not as many). It was just a matter of actually fucking doing it.
5. Edit Catching Fire: Peeta's POV Chapters 7-13
I don't remember when I finished this goal, but it was a while ago.
6. Write City of Bones: Jace's POV Chapters 5-10
I didn't get this one done. I'm currently writing chapter 10. I wanted to get it done Sunday, and then things happen. So, I decided I would work on it last night (Tuesday) after I got off work, but it is such a huge chapter. Like I'm only 7 pages into the chapter in the chapter (out of 28 pages), and I'm page 12 of what I've written. I have a lot to go. But, I'm slowly making progress.
7. Read 8 Books Outside of School
I read more than 8 books outside of school. I read:
- Eve: The Awakening by Jenna Moreci
- Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
- Fat Girl Problems by BookWorm0006
- Wanderlust by writerbug44
- Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
- To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
- The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
- Paper Towns by John Green
- The Girl Who Wrote the Dating Manual by xXForever_LoveXx
- Storm and Silence by Rob Thier
- If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer by O.J. Simpson
Then, add the 2 books I did read in school, A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines and The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, and that's a total of 13 books. In terms of my 2017 Reading Challenge of Goodreads, my goal is 48 books, and I've read 36 books. This brings me to having my reading challenge 75% completed.
Now, we have my goals for the summer quarter.
Summer Quarter Dates: June 21, 2017 - September 21, 2017
Goals:
1. Write 13 parts for Ask Me Questions
2. Rewrite Anatomy Notes for Chapters 22, 23, 25, & 27
(This will finish up all my anatomy notes. And I want to actually get this done before I leave for school in August.)
3. Edit Catching Fire: Peeta's POV Chapters 14-20
4. Write City of Bones: Jace's POV Chapters 10-15.
5. Read 10 Books
