why I write

I'm making a list of reasons of why I write.

1. Because it expresses who I really am inside.

2. Because I want to change someone's life, even if I can't change my own.

3. Because it makes my dreams come true.

4. Because I want other people to love reading as I had learned how to love it.

5. Because the people that live in my head deserve to have a voice too.

6. So I can fall in love over, and over, and over again, with every character I create.

7. For the people who, like me, needed that one story that saved their lives.

8. Because I can write what's in my head so I don't end up getting lost there.

9. Because my characters are all lost, homeless, trapped in my mind. They've helped me through so much, it would be cruel not to give them a place to live.

10. Because I'm messed up and writing is my therapy.

11. To get the ideas out of my head so I can maybe get some sleep.

12. Not for a perfect world, but to find beauty in the flawed.

13. Because someday, I want my characters to be someone's OTP.

14. Because I can't understand my thoughts when they are in my head.

15. Because my characters and stories are something that I have control over, and that no one can take away from me.

16. Because I have realized writing is my one true love, and nothing can ever change that.

17. The same reason I breathe. I need to in order to survive.

18. Because no one listens when I talk.

19. Because it's the only way people can read my mind.

20. Because written words are permanent, written down in stone while spoken words can be forgotten.

21. Because I don't have to be in the real world anymore and face my real world problems.

22. Because I don't want to forget.

23. Because the only way I can tell my story is through fictionalized characters.

24. Because I can make you say "I love you" as many times as I want. Even though you don't in real life.

25. Because it helps me escape the reality I hate, and lets me create the world I want to live in one day.

26. Because if even a fraction of a human's imagination gets onto a page, it's magical.

27. Because it's the only thing I know.

28. Because writing is crack, and I'm an addict.

29. Because even when I can't fix this world we live in, I can try and be the superhero in my writing world.

30. It's how I express my dreams.

31. Because kidnapping people and forcing them to act out your interesting make-believe worlds is technically illegal.

32. To bring back the magic that the world has stopped believing in.

33. Because who I am on paper is better than who I am in reality.

34. Because I can travel to another place for free.

35. To help others understand me. To help me understand me.
