Poem 8: Break Free

There are people who notice you because you're different;
They judge you as if they're pure and perfect.
They will get into your nerves and will try to tear you apart
Until there's nothing left of you but a lost soul and a shuttered heart.

When they need you, they'll pick you up and keep you in a place safe and warm,
And when they're done playing they'll just throw you aside;
They never value your existence and forever will never be
Because for them there's nothing substantial but their own bliss.

The rain is drowning you as the water slowly swallows your flesh 
And in your mouth, the water makes its way–
It will fill your lungs until there's no hope to see;
Now that you are helpless, to whom are you gonna flee?

I tell you, there's no one out there who's capable enough to help you;
Search within your soul and there, you'll find a hero–
He who slumbers for a very long time,
He who is just waiting to be awakened.

Kill that weakling inside you and let the hero unfold before your eyes;
Embrace him with open arms and make him arise;
For he is you and nothing in this world can separate you,
Even the grasp of death it can never break you.

Yesterday may stormy yet today it will stop,
The dark clouds will depart and soon the sun will rise;
The cold breeze shall never kiss your skin ever again 
And in your kingdom forever you will reign.

You might feel scared sometimes but I tell you don't be 
For in fear, darkness and terror feed.
Don't hesitate to take a single step,
Keep on moving forward, spread your wings and break free.
