The golden anniversary of Taal Lake Hotel in Tagaytay was one of the anticipated event this year and I am glad they invited me. It'll serve as a big exposure to our soon to open A&Q Manila. Good thing I had the chance to attend.
Kinabukasan ng umaga ay naka-handa na ang lahat ng gamit ko for the 5-day vacation.
Dumating si Rius before 9 AM kaya maaga kaming nakaalis. Iniwan ko ang aking Tucson dahil ang kanyang fortuner ang aming ginamit.
"You left your civic?" I ask.
"Alam kong madaming kailangang dalhin kaya ito ang ginamit ko."
True enough. Puno na ang back seat sa gamit ko pa lang.
Nakakahiya.
"Breakfast muna tayo?"
Tumango ako. We stop at Nuvali Sta. Rosa Laguna to have our breakfast. This is also one potential mall who we might sign up with in the future.
Malaki ito and most importantly, environmental-friendly.
Iginaya ako ni Rius sa Contis at pina-upo bago tanungin ang aking order. The breakfast went well. We've talked a lot of things about the company. Ang usapan namin ay pormal na parang meeting lamang.
Not included Lazarius' famous hugot lines on board. Seriously that's so corny but it made me laugh big-time.
"Rai pwede ba. Stop being so cheesy!"
Nasa sasakyan na kami at palabas na ng boundary ng Laguna to Tagaytay.
"Why? This thing you called cheesy makes you smile Summer."
"Nakakatawa kasi ang ka-kornihan mo. Kaya wala kang girlfriend eh!" Ngumisi ako sa kanya na parang nang aasar.
He glared back and laugh. "Wala kong girlfriend dahil yung babaeng gusto ko, mahal na mahal ang trabaho niya."
"Ouch! You mean to say tablado ka doon sa babae? Business over you? That's a clear butt hurt Lazarius Mercado!"
Nagpatuloy ang asaran namin. Nakikisabay ako sa mga hirit niya even though I know what he really means. Alam ko namang ako ang binabanggit niya, I just want to lightened up the mood and make a conversation.
Isa pa nasanay na din ako sa mga salita ni Rius. Noon pa man, when we're still in Las Vegas, he keeps on giving me hints of admiration.
Nakarating kami ng Taal Vista at exactly 1 PM. The receptionist welcome us warmly and gave theirq most popular suite in their hotel.
It's called Lake wing for it has the breathtaking glimpse of the ever beautiful Taal Lake.
Nag-aayos si Rius ng gamit habang ako ay nakahalukipkip at nakatanaw sa lawa. If I am the old Summer I would probably go take a picture of it and post.
"I'll leave your things here." Nilingon ko si Rius na inaangat sa kama ang mga bags ko.
"Saan ang room mo?"
"Tapat lang ng sa'yo. Call me when you need help."
Tumango ako sa kanya. "Okay."
Rius gave me a sweet smile before leaving. Nang sumara ang pinto ko ay nagsimula na akong mag-ayos ng mga gamit. I put my clothes in the cabinet and arranged them according to usage.
Aside from the event proper and the culinary conference ay paniguradong yayayain ako ni Rius to stroll around the city. Might as well enjoy!
Sabay kaming nag-dinner to what they called Tãza, their lounge for VIP guests. The staffs prepared a simple yet romantic lake side dinner for me and Lazarius.
