Underground | Part 3 (End)

I was with Erwin's squad while Isabel, Furlan and Rivaille were somewhere else, we was on an expedition during a storm, I noticed black smoke to the right of us,

"Black smoke to the right!" I informed, Erwin nodded before firing a flare passing the information on, my eyes widened as I realised it was the direction that Isabel was in, my grip on the reins tightened before I turned around and headed towards the smoke, I arrived at a scene of a dead squad however it wasn't the one Isabel was in, I turned around and saw footprints of some sort, I followed them and my horse fell over something making me stumble off it landing in front of Isabel's head, I gasped before holding it in my arms, I looked around for Furlan and Rivaille, I found half of Furlan's body, I set Isabel's head down next to him before hearing something drop making me turn around seeing a dead Titan and Rivaille, Erwin's squad arrived

"(L/N), you're alive" he stated, I nodded standing up and saluting him, he went towards Rivaille, who was crying which made me a little shocked since he never showed any emotion "You're the only survivor" Erwin commented, Rivaille didn't reply, "Pathetic" Erwin scoffed causing Rivaille to pull out a blade and go to attack Erwin but I got hold of the blade

"I'm going to kill you" Rivaille growled towards Erwin, my grip on the blade tightened

"It's your fault they're dead, Levi! Not his" I snarled, his eyes widened before pulling the blade away,

"(L/N) follow me" Erwin demanded, I nodded and followed him over to Hange "Get that bandaged then we'll talk" he ordered, I nodded and went over to the bandages before wrapping my hand up, I went back over to Erwin

"You wanted to talk so talk" I asserted, he nodded

"You don't seem to effected by your friends deaths" he commented,

"I've learnt how to deal with it" I shrugged,

"What the hell have you been through to do that?" He asked,

"Not like it's any of your business but my Father died when I was five, I've basically turned myself into an emotionless killing machine" I answered, he nodded

"I see. When we get back to HQ you have three days to mourn" he retorted, I raised an eyebrow

"I would rather not mourn, sir" I replied,

"I understand" He sighed

"We're making our way back to HQ!" Someone announced as he got on his horse, I got on mine before we all travelled back to HQ.

We arrived at HQ late at night so I went to my room before sighing, I looked towards my drawings before yelling in frustration throwing everything everywhere, I fell to my knees as I cried

"He was suppose to protect you!" I screamed, I went over to the door as someone knocked on it, I opened it to see Rivaille there, I slammed it closed again,

"(Y/N), let me in" he pleaded,

"No!" I snapped before punching the wall, I sighed running my hands through my hair before looking down on the floor noticing a drawing I did of Isabel when we was still Underground, my door opened making me glare at Rivaille,

"Get out" I growled,

"Annabeth I need to know your okay" he replied,

"Get out!" I cried pushing him out and closing the door before falling down against it and hugged my knees.

I woke up from the floor and looked around my mess of a room, I sighed before picking up all my drawings and putting them back on the table before walking towards the door before noticing a hole in the wall, I placed my fist in it before shaking my head and leaving for the Mess Hall, I walked in and everyone's eyes were on me.

"How is she coping?"

"She's rejected the three days to mourn from her squad leader"

"Wow, she's so strong"

They were some of the comments I overheard as I walked over to get myself some coffee, I sat on a table by myself, everyone's eyes still on me

"What?" I asked making them all get on with their breakfasts, Hange sat down next to me wrapping her arm around me as Erwin sat on the side opposite.

"How are you?" Hange asked, I sighed

"I'm fine. What's on today's agenda?" I asked,

"Combat training" Erwin answered, I nodded before drinking my coffee and putting the cup to wash and leaving, I was stretching out when the rest of the group arrived, including Rivaille, "Pair up!" Erwin ordered, Rivaille came over to me like normal, "Practise your combat against each other" Erwin demanded, everyone began to fight, Rivaille turned to me

"I'm sorry for-" I cut him off by kicking him in the stomach area which was closely followed by two punches making him stumble backwards, everyone stopped and was watching us, he sighed before coming back at me with a punch which I blocked and then a kick which hit me in the side, I growled before punching him around the face making him fall on to the floor, so I kicked him in the stomach and face multiple times, I was pulled off him but I flipped them over my shoulder revealing it to be Hange, I went back over to Rivaille giving him one more punch before Mike and Erwin grabbed hold of me,

"You're the reason their dead!" I yelled as I thrashed against their grip which was pointless as they were both stronger than me,

"(L/N) calm down" Erwin demanded,

"No, I deserve it" Rivaille stated making me stop, Hange helped him up "I broke a promise to keep Isabel safe. I deserve to die at her hands" he continued, I pulled myself from Erwin and Mike's grip before walking over to him, I glared at him before pulling him into a hug and breaking down,

"I'm so sorry" I sobbed, he rubbed my back

"You shouldn't be apologising, I should" he retorted.
