Author's Note:

GUYS THIS WAS MY FAVOURITE CHAPTER TO WRITE I JUST FEEL LIKE EVERYTHING FLOWED SO EASILY

Leave a comment down below of what kind of music you like to listen to. I'm curious for some reason haha

And as I stared I counted

The webs from all the spiders

Catching things and eating their insides

Like indecision to call you

And hear your voice of treason

Will you come home and stop this pain tonight?

Stop this pain tonight

Don't waste your time on me

You're already the voice inside my head

I miss you, I miss you

Don't waste your time on me

You're already the voice inside my head

I miss you, I miss you

I lean my head back against my pillows and sigh. I allow the bass line and lyrics to flow through my veins, comforting me in all ways possible.

The song finishes and the shuffle play goes on to play the next one.

I'm like a child looking off on the horizon

I'm like an ambulance that's turning on the sirens

Oh, I'm still alive

I'm like a soldier coming home for the first time

I dodged a bullet and I walked across a landline

Oh, I'm still alive

I hear a repeat of knocking and decipher it as my mom standing in my doorway, a worried expression on her face.

"Hey Mom, what's wrong?" I ask, pulling a headphone out of one ear.

"I just got a call from Jason's mom. She needs me to come over right away. Something about the boys in trouble, I couldn't quite make out what she was saying." My mom shakes her head, eyes clouding over.

"Okay, we'll text me if something's wrong." I wave and she closes my door behind her. I hear her footsteps down the stairs, the lock turn in the front door and her car start as she backs out of the driveway.

I put the other headphone back in my ear and focus on the next song playing.

Get up Johnny boy, get up Johnny boy

Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground

You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy

Get up Johnny boy 'cause we all need you now

"Hey Dad." I greet him in the kitchen as he stands against the counter, leafing through the mail.

"Hi Pipes." He smiles at me and I go over to raid the fridge.

'Hey, where are Carter and your Mom?"

"Cart's at Jason's house, you know the kid he went trick or treating with, but Mom got a call from his mom so she went over there to check it out. She's been gone for awhile now though, probably half an hour." I glance at the clock on the stove.
