Chapter 76

       "Your children are angels, Jack!" Mamie said over the phone.

      "I hardly believe that," Jack laughed,

       "They are. Oh, Jack, they've made Ike so happy! It's like he's got grand babies again. And he loved when the kids were small. Now, they're so busy and all."

       "I'm so glad to hear it. If you think you'll be alright, I'd like to stay with Jackie."

       "Absolutely!" Mamie replied, "Hold on, dear. Ike wants to speak with you."

      "I hear congratulations are in order. Congratulations, son, on your son."

      "Thank you. Mamie said you two could look after the kids; is that alright with you?"

      "Of course it is! It's great to have youngsters in the house again."

      "Thanks, Ike," Jack replied, "I'll call you soon."

      He hung up the phone and gazed upon his sleeping wife. She was beautiful. Even after hours of labor and the delivery of John Jr., she was still beautiful. Her hair was slightly messy and her makeup had been sweated off and he saw her actual aged face only to realize that this was his First Lady and the best damn woman to ever live.
