How are you feeling? The text was a surprise especially since we had not talked about the ball hitting me after the fact. I contemplated not responding at all since I just got off the phone with Alyssa discussing how I was supposedly being "too close" to Logan. After several minutes of having an internal battle with myself, I decide to send a small response.

Yeah I'm fine. Probably a nasty bruise, but pretty awesome battle scar! I push send and start to regret ever replying at all. That wasn't flirty was it? I was just trying to be nice! I place the phone back on the side table expecting to not have another message for the night. The phone vibrates and lights up the room again.

I won't tell anyone if you don't. Lol. Ok, so now I am surprised and confused.

Won't tell anyone you hit me with a baseball? Instead of putting the phone back on the side table I placed it beside me on the bed.

Yeah. If anyone asks I'll just say you fought off a bear with boxing gloves. I laugh quietly imagining the stern unfriendly Logan I know saying exactly those words in person.

Great. We got our cover story then! But we can't trust James to keep such a hard story straight.

He probably can't remember anything that happened today anyways.

That's James for ya! I'm going to sleep now.

Good night Theresa.

I place my phone back onto the nightstand. I am completely confused and stressed over the conversation that just happened. The Logan that just texted me was not the same Logan I went to school with. This Logan was happy. I had shared a locker with Logan for four months now and had not exchanged one word with him. Yet, he texted me out of the blue. I decided not to think about it and not to let anything else happen about this. I did not like him like that and he is with Anna who he loves.
