"Well right after I dropped your truck off at your house I got a call from the police station. They wanted me to come and identify them. So I packed up some clothes and started my journey down to the station. My luck we had the worst blizzard in Maryland' history. I got there and identified Crew."

The mention of Crew's name made his grip around my waist tighten. I knew how he felt about protecting me, even while we were only friends. "I got to the hotel and the next morning when I was supposed to leave the snow was as tall as my thigh. Luckily, I wasn't the only girl stuck in the hotel. We were stuck there for a week until they cleared us to leave."

"Was it hard seeing him again?"

"Yeah it was. But it was better to see him from behind a window."

"What else happened while I was away?" He asked hoping to change the conversation.

"Alyssa took me to a few parties at College Park at Mitchel's fraternity."

"Mitchel's fraternity?"

"Yeah. For a New Year's Eve party."

"Oh." I could tell he was hesitant to ask me about what had happened while at the parties with the fraternity. "What did you guys do?"

"Alyssa left me with some guy named Harrison." His silence reaffirmed my thoughts of his reaction. "He was nice and kept me company until my Uber showed up."

"Did you get a New Year's kiss?"

"No, I couldn't kiss anyone while I was thinking about someone else." He pulled me closer as he took another drink from the bottle before handing it to me. "Nothing else really exciting happened."

"Oh come on! I know more happened than that." He joked as he took the bottle from my hand.

"I did end up in the hospital again."

"Why?" He asked worried.

"I didn't break any bones. I was in a car accident."

"Woah, Theresa, what?" He asked as he pulled me to the side to look at me. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"What happened?"

"Alyssa was driving home from the pool party and she lost control of the car while taking the turn on an exit. We hit the guardrail. Her car was totaled."

"Theresa, I am so sorry. I wish I would have been here. Was it really that bad?" He pulled me tighter towards him.

"We both stayed in the hospital for a day or two for concussions. Speaking of hospitals, I helped a woman get her car unstuck from a snow bank on my way back to the city and she ended up being a doctor at the hospital in Annapolis. I work as her assistant some nights out of the week."

"That's great. What kind of stuff do you do?"

"I get to sit in and take notes when she is talking to patients. I also get to review medical charts before putting them away. I do a lot of different small things, but they look great for transfer resumes. Ever since the accident I realized that I want to do trauma. When I was stuck in the snow I realized that if something happened to one of us we would have probably died. I want to travel to disasters and help them."

"DamnTheresa. I have missed you."
