"Have you signed up for your classes yet?" Alyssa asks as I answer her call.
"Yeah, my classes start Tuesday."
"What did you end up taking?"
"More biology and chemistry. How about you?"
"Some math class and sociology. I hate being in college."
"What would you do instead?"
"I don't know, but I don't want to take any more classes."
"I know it's hard, but you like being at school don't you?"
"Yeah, I like the social aspect, but the school work isn't what I'm cut out for. I will text you."
"Sounds good!" I hang up the phone and turn my attention back to my computer. Logan had told me that he was going to be coming back January 27th. I didn't know anything else. The website wouldn't tell me anything about returning flights. I would just have to wait and see if Logan gave me any more information.
He was coming back in ten days. I wanted nothing more than to be with Logan. Everyday had gotten worse waiting for him to hold me again like he had when he left. Ever since he told me to wait for him, I couldn't help but let my every thought go back to him. I was starting to think I was going insane.
I grab my phone and wallet and drive to the mall. I wanted to get him something for when he got back into town. He had gotten me a really thoughtful gift and I wanted to return the thought. Trying to find something to give him was going to be tough.
I thought about everything that he liked to do and what I knew about him. I walked into the busy mall. The last weekend before colleges were back in session enticed a lot of students go out and embrace their last few minutes of freedom.
After graduation, Bradley had started to work out with Logan. Logan was known for his time spent at the gym. I was more of a cardio worker than someone who used weights on a daily basis. Once over the summer I had joined James and Bradley as they accompanied Logan to the gym.
Logan was showing them how to lift a weight a certain way. I had no intention of trying, but when Bradley and James ran off to buy a bottle of water Logan and I were left by ourselves.
He convinced me to try. After hesitation, I gave in to his edgy insists. I sat on the bench and he handed me a small weight. He stood behind me and wrapped his hand around mine holding the weight.
His breath could be felt on my neck. The weight in my hand was not what was flooding my concentration. His muscle grew larger as he led my arm closer to my chin. His chest was against my back. A crying child brought my attention back to the rack of clothes in front of me.
What could I get him that he would use? I walked around the mall looking at the different stores that were having sales to get rid of unsold Christmas gifts. I looked down at my watch one last time before heading towards the exit.
Nothing could compare to what he had gotten me. If he likes to work out then I should get him something that has to do with tracking his vitals. He would be able to watch his stats and I could learn a thing or two about the different parts that make a body tick.
I turn around and walk to the closest outdoors store. I walk around a bit looking for something that could do exactly that. I went up to the glass case to see a watch that connected to your phone and gave you all your readings. I was ready for him to come home before, but now I was really ready for him to come home.
