It felt like eternity, standing too far away from the person I wanted the most. He was right in front of me. He was finally close enough to see. I began to grow more anxious every second that we stood in silence. "Theresa. I..." I waited for him to go on. He paused seeming to have too many thoughts and not enough words to describe them. "I've missed you."

His words cut through me like a knife. They were everything I had been feeling and everything I was too nervous to say. "I've missed you." My words cracking.

Before I could think of anything else to say he stepped down from the last brick step and walked towards me. Without hesitation he put his hand behind my head and pulled me into his body.

He wrapped his arm around my lower back making sure I was as close as I could physically get. He leaned in and laid his lips into mine. It felt like every part of my body was shutting down to the surroundings. The only thing relevant to my existence was his warm lips pressed against mine.

He moved his head back slightly. I put my arms around his waist and slightly pulled him against me. As if reading my mind he smiled and pushed our lips back together. His warm lips made every part of my body shiver.

I tilted my head to allow his lips to stay on mine and the soft moving of his lips against mine was accompanied by his fingers tracing the length of my spine. His other hand pushed the piece of hair from our embrace.

He pulled away and I let out a small whine for his attention to return. He smiled and closed his eyes. He leaned his forehead against mine and we stood on the sidewalk just listening to the heavy breathing. "I don't know how I could ever survive being away from you for so long again." He said without moving.

He pulled his forehead away from mine causing me to open my eyes to meet his. He took his hand from the back of my neck and traced down my arm until it reached my hand. "Let's get out of here." He said as he wrapped his fingers around mine and stepping towards his truck.

He walked me around the front of the lifted truck and opened the door for me to climb in. He continued to hold my hand until I was seated in the passenger's seat. He let go to my dismay and walked to the other side of the truck. Every ounce of anger I had once felt was gone, swept away with the cold.
