"To graduating!" I cheer as I raise my bottle of water into the air. The boys, also sitting in the bed of Logan's truck, raise their bottles while Bradley screams. We were parked in the middle of the baseball field at the park near Logan's house. The sky was clear and the night was late. We sat and talked for hours about high school memories and what our plans were for the future. Both James and Bradley were going to college out of state and Logan had a job lined up with a family friend's construction company. Due to my family's financial status, I was going to go to a community college in the county.
Around midnight Logan drove us back to the school and dropped us off at our cars. I was ready to go home and sleep. This night went a lot smoother than I had originally thought. No one brought up what had happened at the senior play.
For the next month the four of us saw each other at least once a week. We took a road trip to North Carolina and spent three days on a beach. We went camping and white water rafting. June was probably the best month of my life.
July came around and our adventures started to die down. Bradley got a daily job and Logan began to work longer hours at the construction company. I applied and got accepted as a receptionist at a medical office ten minutes from my house. My hours were flexible and I could work full time until I started school. Our time became consumed by responsibilities, but we ended up seeing each other every once in a while. August came and Bradley and James left for college. Logan and I were faced with the option of staying friends and working through the unresolved awkwardness or stop seeing each other until Bradley and James came back for break. During our camping trip in June, Bradley had asked about Anna. Logan simply told us that they were through. He had broken up with Anna, but we never brought the topic up again.
