"He looks at you the most." Rachel said.

"How do I make him stop?" I questioned rushed.

"Why would you want to stop?"

"I..." I began. Why was I wanting to stop this? Logan asked me to wait for him. Logan was the only guy I could think about. Dan was a gentleman and very attractive, but I knew that my longing was for Logan. Even if he comes back with no interest in being with me anymore, I would much rather take that chance than trying anything with a guy I barely know. "I am with someone. You should try and take this conversation and make him fall for you." I smiled back at her.

"You should!" Sara urged.

After giving a smile at the both of us, Rachel gave in. "Ok, I will!"

"I will start a fire." Dan said as he approached the couches again causing us all to lean back from our whispering positions.

"That would be great. I will help." Rachel said as she stood up to help in trying to start the fire. Sara and I remained quiet as we eavesdropped on Rachel and Dan's conversation.

Rachel's obvious flirting worked and they spent too much time trying to start the fire place. By the end of the night Rachel and Dan had fallen asleep sitting together on the couch with a blanket wrapped around them.

Sara slept in a chair closest to the blazing fire. I had grabbed another blanket from my room and was laying on the couch. The man at the front desk never came back around and I wasn't expecting to see him anytime soon.

Everyone was fast asleep and the fire continued to crackle. The sweet smell of burning wood and the silence of no traffic made the situation peaceful.

I grabbed my phone and pushed the covers off of my legs and walked back into the other room to call my mom before I went to sleep. We had been texting all day, reassuring her that I was fine. Alyssa was equally worried about my well-being and continually offered to ski down to me if I couldn't stand being here any longer.

"Hi mom." I whispered into the phone.

"Hi sweetie. How are you?" Her patient voice asked,

"I'm doing fine mom. I just wanted to call one last time before I went to sleep."

"Thanks. Try and stay safe. I love you."

"Love you. Good night."

"Good night." The quick conversation was over, but the reassurance was rewarding.

I walked back to the couch and covered my body with the cover. I laid looking at the tall ceiling of the hotel. My mind continued to keep me awake.

Remembering how it felt being wrapped in Logan's arms helped me fall asleep. The comfort that it brought to know that someone was there. I would never have to worry about waking up alone when I was with him.

The sound of the fire brought back the camping trip we had taken during the summer. Logan and Bradley were goofing off trying to make hotdogs, but ended up dropping the pack into the fire.

Logan's dense eyes were filled with happiness every time he made contact with me. There was a force that was driving us together. A longing that wanted us to be together, but our own selves holding us apart.

That longing had not changed. I wanted him now more than ever, and this feeling continued to multiply. We were never meant to be friends. Friends was just an excuse we used to be around each other without the pressure of someone making the first move.

We both were unsure of how the other felt, but Logan made that pretty clear when he had gotten on that plane.

This was just one week down out of the many he would be gone. What worried me the most was not his distance, but that the wait for him to return would become easier.
