"That sounds like fun!" We pull up to the parking lot for the boardwalk. He tells me about this amazing bar he is taking me to for food. After walking for about ten minutes on the boardwalk we reach the entrance to the bar. The place was packed with college students standing around talking as loud music escaped from the bar. We walk inside to see that there were even more people inside the tiny place. He pushes through the crowd as I follow closely behind.
"Two Blue Moons." Crew yells at the bartender. The bartender looks from Crew to me and grabs two bottles from the small fridge behind the counter. He walks over and hands Crew the two beers as he walks back to the other end of the bar.
"Well that was easy enough." I smile up crew.
"He probably couldn't care less as long as I leave him a nice tip." He smiles back as he puts the bottle to his lips. We find two stools and sit and talk as we share a large bucket of the best tasting fries.
An hour of harmless talking, "Look what we have here." An unfamiliar voice from behind me says. Crew looks up as I turn around to see two college guys with a slightly less build than Crew standing at the entrance of the bar and looking our way. I watch them as they walk over to the bar where we were sitting. "How are you Crew?" One of the college aged guys asks as he leans against the wooden bar.
"Fine, but I am kind of in the middle of something." Crew responds as he looks down at me and then back to the tall built guy standing right between us. His expression makes it look like he is intimidated by these people.
"Ah, yes." The guy looks from Crew to me. "You look like a sweet thing. Why are you with Crew when you could be with me?" He asked as he put his hand up to move a piece of hair behind my ear. I move my head away from his hand. "Fierce." He takes his attention away from me and looks back at Crew. "We'll see you soon." He turns and walks back towards the exit.
"Um?" I question.
"They're just some douche bags that are in my rival fraternity. Those two play on the football team at my college."
"Oh."
"Maybe we should get out of here." He suggests and I happily agree. Crew throws some cash onto the bar and we stand up. As I walk in front of him towards the exit I feel his hand on my lower back. We walk out the exit and he gently nudges me. "Do you want to walk for a little longer? I don't want this night to end too soon." I am hesitant. After what had just happened in the bar and the way Crew's attitude has tensed I would much rather just go back to the townhouse. Before I can disagree, Crew starts to walk farther down the boardwalk, away from the car. With a glance in the opposite direction I let out a defeated sigh and catch up to him quickly. We walk in silence for a few minutes.
The sound of the music from the bar begins to weaken with each step we take. The shops we are passing had already closed and the only thing open for the rest of the boardwalk were hotels and two or three more crowded bars. As I question what I should do in this growingly weird situation my body is pulled in between a house and a closed store. Crew pins me up against the wall and starts to kiss me. His lips are intense as they crash into mine. I wanted this to stop. I try to push him off, but his large body doesn't budge.
