We walked in the snow for a few more minutes before it stopped and the sun started to lower along the mountain. I waited the entire walk for him to kiss me. I wanted nothing more. We reach the car and climb in. He turns the heat on full blast and we sit there looking at the setting sun over the view. He pulls the truck out of the parking spot and starts the decent down the mountain. I thought of ways to break the awkward silence growing between us. "You know, this is my favorite place in the world."

"I can see why." He smiled.

"So you want to help me study?"

"Throw your toughest at me."

"You should be scared." I laugh over at him. He smiles back. We spend the two hour drive, joking around and trying to memorize things for my biology exam. He pulled in front of my house and turned the truck off. He jumped out and pulled my bag from the backseat. He walks my bag up to the front door and hands it to me. "Thanks." I smile slightly at him.

"It is never a problem for you Theresa." He puts his hands into his sweatshirt pocket and looks up to me. "Theresa," He begins. He pauses before continuing. He continues to look into my eyes. "I had a really nice time. I should lose bets more often." He laughed. I return the smile and open the front door.

"Good night Logan." I smile back at him while I put my foot through the front door.

He smiled when I said his name. "Good night Theresa." He started to step backwards down the front steps. Once he reached the bottom step he turned and walked back down the driveway. I step inside and close the wooden door behind me. I use the door for support. I should open this front door and run down the driveway and kiss him. I take a deep breath and open the door quickly to run down the driveway. I push open the screen door and step out onto the brick steps. The large black truck speeds down the road and out of the neighborhood.

I watch as my moment of bravery drives away. Maybe it was for the best. He could just be playing with my feelings or not into me at all. I step back inside to escape the cold and close the door once again.
