It wasn't even 9 am when my phone started buzzing. I reached over and saw that Alyssa was calling. I swiped to answer.

"Hello." I said half asleep.

"Theresa. Guess what the fuck happened last night." She said as I could tell by the tone of her voice that she was pissed.

"Mitchel got into a fight with Bradley?" I questioned as I sat up in my bed.

"Oh, not just that. I woke up to find all 4 of my tires slashed." I was fully awake now.

"What? Who would do that?" I questioned quickly.

"The security light on the garage, you know. It shines brightly and it comes into my room. Well it came on so I didn't think much of it. I thought it might just be the cat. So I was about to go back to sleep when I heard a car door. I walked to the window and saw Jenny's car driving away."

"No!" I inserted.

"Yep. Nick came and slashed my tires because I didn't invite him to my party."

"Wow. Have you told your parents?" I questioned?

"Yeah. My dad said he was going to get the footage from the camera up the street that flashes every time someone drives into the neighborhood."

"Are you guys going to call the cops?"

"That's the thing. My dad can't. He's a cop and if anyone finds out that there was alcohol at a minor's party at his house he could get into some serious trouble."

"What are you going to do?" I questioned already going through ideas in my head.

"I have the right nerve to drive to his house and slash his tires."

"Alyssa, I know. I would help you do it, but they could call the police and we would be the ones getting into trouble for it." I insisted, hoping that I could stop her from doing something stupid.

"You're right, but what should I do? I can't just let them get away with this."

"How about we just play with their heads?" I suggested.

"Go on." She urged.

"So we text both Jenny and Nick and ask how their night was. Then when they respond you ask them how the streets were in your neighborhood. When they are shocked we tell them that we have footage and are going to call the cops."

"Ok, but are you going to come over and do it with me?" She asked.

"Yeah, but how about later tonight so they have some time to come clean if they decide to. I can be at your house around 7."

"Sure. And bring stuff to spend the night." She insisted. I agreed and hung up the phone. When the phone screen went back to the home screen I saw there were a few messages. I opened the messages to see who they were from. There were a few from people just wishing a Happy New Year and two from Bradley asking how Alyssa was and apologizing.

I spend the day with my family as we just spend the day around the house. The night comes fast and the last night of freedom before school starts again has come. I take my father's car to Alyssa's house and park it on the side of the road. I walk in the garage door and greet her family awkwardly like I always do. Alyssa is washing the dishes from dinner and I go over to help her load the dishwasher. We make small talk as we finish loading and go up to her room.

"You ready?" She asks as she pulls the iPhone from her back pocket of her jeans and closes her bedroom door.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I say smiling.

She writes a text asking how their nights were and sends it to both of them individually. As we wait for their response we begin to try and figure out exactly what happened last night.

"So I thought you and Anna would have worked everything out last night?" She asks in concern of the dare she had requested last night.

"I thought we would have too, but when I went to look for her and sit down and have a conversation like we did last time she just blew me off." I said and it was obvious she was as confused as I am. "I tried to talk to her before the game and when she dared me to kiss Logan out of the blue I was shocked."

"So was I. Why would you dare the girl you are jealous of to go and kiss your boyfriend?"

Her phone vibrates and we see Jenny's name light up across the screen. My night was good. Sorry I couldn't come to the party. How was it?

"What should I say?" She asks.

"I would say something like 'I know. You should have come a little earlier than 3 am. Most of the people were gone by the time you stopped by.'" We both laughed and Alyssa typed the message.

"Do you think I should talk to Anna about what happened last night?" She asked.

"I'm not sure how close you guys are, but I would. There is something going on and I just want you to reassure her that there is nothing to worry about between Logan and me." Her phone vibrates with Jenny's name. Um, I am not sure what you mean.

Before I can give any suggestion to what to reply she begins to type out the message. Oh, Sorry. I was certain that it was you and Nick that stopped by my house at 3 in the morning to take a close look at my car.

"Dang. You are feisty." I say after she finishes writing the text and pushes the send button.

"This pisses me off. My dad is making me pay for the replacement tires. There is no way I would get any money from them." Her phone vibrates with a response in less than a minute. Are you accusing me and Nick of vandalizing your car?

I look at Alyssa's face as she becomes ever so irritated. I'm not accusing you, the security cameras at my house and the entrance cameras at the top of the neighborhood are. "It sucks that we can't do anything else about this." She states as she places the phone back down onto the bed.

Can I call you? Jenny replies. Alyssa pushes the call button and waits for Jenny to answer.

"Hello?" Jenny answers cautiously.

"Hi." Alyssa replies. It is obvious that if Jenny says the wrong thing Alyssa is going to lose all control.

"Listen Alyssa, I am so sorry. We had just come from a party where there was a lot of alcohol and we were drunk. He was pissed so our designated driver took us into your neighborhood after Nick told us where your house was. I never touched your car. Nick was the one who had the pocket knife and jumped out." She finished.

"Jenny. It isn't up to me. My father is pissed and the association of my community is irritated that something like this happened in their neighborhood. You should have talked Nick out of it and now you are an accomplice to a crime." Alyssa says while staring at me.

"I know. Are you going to call the cops?" She asks.

"That is up to my dad. And he is really pissed about the whole thing." Alyssa stated.

"Alyssa. Again, I'm sorry. I understand."

"I'm not going to say it's ok, because it's not, but you have a good night." Alyssa said as she hung up the phone. We both start to laugh as she places the phone back onto the bed.

We spend the rest of the night talking about random things. Alyssa texts Ben and asks if he would like to meet up and get breakfast with us tomorrow morning. He denies and says that he has plans with Geneva in the morning.
