"Are you excited for prom?" I ask as he continues to flip through the stack of papers.

"Excited is a very extreme word to use. I couldn't care less." He responds with a small laugh.

"Do you know what your color scheme is going to be?"

"Um. We are supposed to match?" I just look at him and he laughs. "Yeah, some black color."

"Some black color?" I repeat laughing. "There is more than one kind of black?"

He shakes his head and smiles. "At least I am not wearing neon purple." He says mockingly.

For the last few months we have become really close friends. I laugh at the idea of my efforts of trying to avoid him earlier in the New Year. There was no point. I have had some of my greatest moments surrounded by Logan, Bradley, and James. Ever since the snow day back in February, Logan and I started to talk like normal friends would. It became an everyday thing to meet up and spend his free period together. Even though we were closer now, I made sure that we only spent time alone together at school. Every time we were together outside of school James and Bradley were around.

Prom is this Saturday and Logan has made it very clear that he has no interest in helping or going. Anna, on the other hand, has made sure that both of them would be showing up together and matching. Only next month we will be graduating and going on to the next chapter of our lives.

"Um, it is not neon purple." I correct his response.

"I'm going to convince James to show up in a neon purple suit."

"The sad part is that I think you could actually persuade him to think that is a good idea."

"Do you see how much paper work you have to fill out just to see if you are a prime candidate to join the Army?" He asks as he stops flipping through the stack of papers and drops the pile onto the table.

"You need to tell Anna that you met with a recruiter."

"She would be pissed. That is why I am going to wait until after prom to tell her."

"Smart man. I still think it is a good idea."

The bell rings and Logansighs, "Only one more firkin month of this! I'll see you later Theresa." Heplaces the papers and binder back into his backpack and starts to walk towards theclassroom.
