Time is ticking

A month since Robyn's departure...

{Zak}

"Look Zak. I don't know what else to do...." Dan sighed placing Robyn's file down in front of him. The crew shifted in their seats around the table not knowing what to say.

"I need more time. She needs more time." I grounded out.

He shook his head "The channel are demanding episodes. I can't hold them off any longer. We were suppose to start last week, as far as I can tell.. We haven't got a single lockdown planned."

"I'm not leaving without her."

"Well you're going to have to start facing the fact that Robyn might not be coming back. She's gone! I've had no contact from her since the request of a transfer. What else do you want me to do? It's not just your ass on the line here!" Dan fired off at me.

I took a breath and released it slowly, not having the energy in my body to retaliate.

"I'll find another photographer. She's AWOL!" He snapped.

"Find another Lead Investigator and Host too." I added folding my fingers together.

Check mate.

Upon hearing me everyone's head whipped in my direction.

"Bro..." Aaron whispered harshly. But I kept my eyes fixed on Dan, I wasn't backing down.

"Y-.." His face went a shade of red as he clenched the phone in his hand before slamming it down.

"You've got a week! Before I personally serve your ass and hers to the network! I'm done with this bullshit!" He yelled grabbing his things.

"Always a pleasure, Daniel." I commented as he passed.

He left the office muttering under his breath and slamming the door behind him.

Silence took hold of the room again before I stood up.

"Bro where you going now?" Aaron asked standing up as well.

"Home."

"To- to do what Zak? We need to find he-"

"I need to find her. Not you. I don't need anyone's help. I made this mess." I bit looking between them.

"Yeah? Well we are a team, a crew. A family and if you can't accept that pill. Then you're really not in the right frame of mind. You're gonna need our help so stop being a little bitch and moping around. And let's find our photographer." Aaron ordered.

"Who gave you balls?" I asked.

He held up his finger in my direction "You're baiting for an argument. I'm not biting. Your argument isn't with me... It's with yourself."

"I did what you said! I told her to take the test which had fuck all to do with you! And look! Look what's happened! She's gone!" I shouted.

"And I don't blame her! Look at you Zak?! You're a mess! Are you growing a beard or just to lazy to clean your act up?! Have you ever considered that sending us on a lockdown might just be enough to bring her back seeing as she's still part of the team?!"

I didn't answer as I thought that through.

"No! You're gonna sit there and feel sorry for yourself because that's all you're  good for! I wasn't the one screaming shit about her parents down the phone at her! You've brought this on yourself!"
