Back to work!

A week later.

Zak's hand slipped around mine as we waited for Bacon and the RV outside the house.

"Do you think Aaron will talk to us?" I asked looking up at him.

"He should have calmed down by now,
yes." He replied.

I knew they hadn't spoken since we returned to Vegas from North Dakota and as much as Zak played it cool.. It was beginning to effect him.

"Maybe we should just tell him? Explain?" I suggested but I was met with a deadpan "No." From Zak.

Finally seeing the RV on its way up the road I untangled my fingers from Zak's hand and went to grab my bags when he got them before me.

"You just worry about yourself and that camera." He nodded to it in my hand.

"I will but I can carry another bag at least." I reasoned reaching for them when he stepped back.

"You could... But you're not." He answered giving a boyish grin before heading over to the RV.

I followed behind him and opened the door climbing into the RV when I was met with silence..

"Welcome back shortcake!" Bacon grinned getting up to give me a hug.

"Hey." I grinned hugging him back before looking around.

"Where's Aaron?" I asked looking to Bacon.

"He's not travelling with us. Billy is taking him with Jay too." He answered.

I looked over at Zak who held his face smooth, giving a shake of his head to dismiss it, he carried on putting our bags down.

"Did he say why?" I asked.

"Nah, just seemed miserable. I'm guessing it's something to do with sleep." He answered.

Bacon seemed to be honest enough so I dropped the conversation and got settled on the couch behind him as Zak took the passenger seat.

"How are you?" I asked making Bacon nod.

"I'm good, yeah. How about yourself?"

"I'm okay." I smiled as Zak's hand grazed my back gently.

Today we were heading back to Virginia City, it seemed word of Zak having been in town has got around and Jeff had found a lockdown there.

"You been to Virginia City Robyn?" Bacon asked as we hit the road.

"Zak took me last week like a day date, fell in love with the place. So I can't wait to spend more time there." I replied.

"That's pretty cool. Did you go to the Old Washoe Club?"

"Sure did! My little munchkin got his own display!" I teased making Zak roll his eyes at my pet name for him that he hated already.

"Have you munchkin?" Bacon asked holding back his laugh.

"Don't you start." He muttered to Bacon making me giggle.

It took a few hours to get to Virginia City which left time for me to chill out, sleep and eat and not all in that order!

I clearly wasn't destined for a life on the road as within an hour I was laying on the bed at the back falling to sleep when warm engulfed my body.

"You're a terrible co pilot." I mumbled into the pillow as Zak curled around me.

"Better partner.. Right?" He asked kissing and nuzzling into my neck.
