i opened the doors to my new school.
new school, new me, new friends, right? i thought to myself before making my first move.
i took my first step trying hard not to trip. i had to be honest, i was really fucking nervous and everyone around stared. taking a deep breath and held my head high, walking quickly ignoring the stares, ignoring everyone in fact because twelve steps after my first step i bumped into someone causing me to stumble back only to be pulled up from falling.
"hey, sorry didn't see you there," the boy spoke, i looked up and stared, my mouth dropping instantly. "You okay there?" he chuckled, i shook my head and backed away from him.
"yeah, sorry for bumping into you," i mumbled, hiding my face but he grabbed my arm pulling me back.
"how come i didn't see you coming? are you new? you don't look familiar," he asked these simple questions that i couldn't answer, i struggled to speak.
"yeah i'm new," i spoke, hiding my shaky voice, how embarrassing, i just stood there staring at him, i'm sure he gets this a lot though, how could anyone resist him?
"oh welcome, i'm jeff atkins," he held his hand out for me to shake.
"y/n," i took his hand and shook it, but when i pulled away jeff wouldn't let go.
"you look really fucking good." he said out of the blue, i opened my mouth to say something but quickly closed it. "oh i said that out loud," he chuckled nervously, his hand still held mine, "well i wasn't lying." he smiled.
"wow, thanks jeff, first compliment at my new school in," i lifted my arm up, the one that jeff wasn't holding, and pretended to look at the time "under five minutes, new record."
the bell rang.
"i better get going, i need to see principal bolan." i tugged my hand away and turned.
"hopefully this isn't the only time we'll see each other," jeff shouted.
